I feel like Cignetti is more of a Chihuahua. He does a lot of yapping. You can't teach him to do tricks because he's stubborn, but if you pay some professionals enough you might get a winner. He's regarded as a real dog but he's more of a rodent.

anytime i went to to their old stadium it always felt like away fans outnumbered the home fans who were very much in the boomer age bracket outside of the student section

Haven’t been to a Stanford game in person so I don’t have a perfect basis for comparison there.

I’ve probably been to half a dozen NW games over the last 8 years, including vs. ND. They’ll show up and be engaged for as long as the team is serviceable and if it’s a big name opponent. Once the outcome becomes obvious they are not shy to move on to something else. Lot of families with a kid who goes to NW and also another BIG school so not complete disengagement. I didn’t go to the temporary stadium on the lake so not sure if they got any bump in atmosphere from that. Everything about a game at the old Ryan Field felt more like a high school environment than college, let alone a contender.
