Dropping two spots in the AP poll seemingly because aTm lost to South Carolina, on the same night that Louisville rolled Clemson in Death Vally, is such a joke. Coaches poll got it right dinging BYU and IU for unbelievably poor SOR. ND would destroy either team.

Hope OSU blasts IU and shows everyone how fraudulent they are.

I think the real thing is that spots 8-13 were such an incredibly close margin last week, something like 48 points total, that shuffling around was inevitable. Shoot you probably could have polled the voters again on Sunday afternoon after the top 25 was announced and there would have been a different order.

As others have said, these polls become completely obsolete this week, as the CFP rankings come out. I will be curious to see where they have ND. I get we have the "worst loss" among the top 10 teams, but we also have several quality wins, even with aTm going down. BYU has a slightly better SOS than ND at this point, probably after the aTm and Navy losses last week, so I'll retract that comment and give them a pass as they're undefeated. IU is 103rd. That's the worst among the entire P4.

Im personally at the point now that I dont even care what the AP or Coaches polls say during the year. Its all so stupid and antiquated and with the playoff committee being the final judge they are pointless. They do nothing but set up expectations and continuously poison the well throughout the year. For example Clemson got shit-housed by UGA and then beat absolutely no body and get steamrolled (at home at night after a bye) by a team both ND and SMU beat, yet Clemson has been in the top 10 over ND for a few weeks.

I want to go on record that in my 37 years I’ve never rooted for Michigan to win in anything. Ever. That changes on Saturday.

Part of me feels dirty for having to root against IU. It’s an incredible story. Cig is an absolute DAWG…but at the end of the day…

Dropped two spots on a bye. 😆

And Bama went up 3. Think about that. Net 5 difference between us and them and we both had a bye lol

And people find it hard to believe multiple two loss teams will be seeded above us.

First Bama had the three teams immediately in front of them lose, we did not. An undefeated Indiana team who destroy another big ten team jumped us. Last week we were virtually tied point wise with BYU and we are still virtually tied with BYU
Again we improved from week 10 to week 11 in the AP Poll point wise. People are focusing on the ranking instead of the points.
Take at a look at the points from 8-13 from week 10 to week 11. The gap in week 10 was so small and its pretty significant now.

The CFP isn't any better. The only poll that matters, of all polls by all entities, is their last one.

I think it's the four highest ranked conference champs, which could be Boise.

Right so AP and coaches polls are worthless through the entire year. I don’t even pay attention to them.

I largely agree with you, it's just something else for us to discuss Sunday-Friday, and perhaps is a sneak peak at the different ways the committee is going to ultimately measure the teams.

Besides fan base/message board discussion, they really are meaningless. What ese are we going to discuss? What music to play in the stadium to get people on their feet? Could you imagine if there was a thread dedicated to that?

I started completely ignoring almost every poll except for the final CFP poll.

No use in getting mad about hypothetical, imaginary seeding during the season, because that’s all it is… until conference championships have been played, the data isn’t complete, and everything can be contradicted. Plus, with 12 spots instead of 4, there’s no reason to stress. ND is in every year at 11-1, and in many years at 10-2. They aren’t leaving the brand out if it’s close.

And on top of that, the committee has shown MANY times that their own rankings are just bullshit until the final edition. They contradict themselves week-to-week… and then they mostly get it right in the very end.
