have always wondered if the walkers will start to "evolve" over time and become more of a real threat:
devolved minds change from current settings to a sort of base-animal-instinct and they become faster, stronger, acquire animal like pack hunting skills etc

or if they start to procreate making new "non walker" healthy kids or bunch of "super walkers"

could see a future scene couple seasons from now where a star on the show is "hunted" by a group of faster/quicker/smarter walkers and is like "WTF is this"?

maybe the end game is that the survivors realize that in order to survive they must unite and fight this new "super walker" threat.

or

the comics have already wrote the ending and I am waaay off base here

Can you name a bigger pansy den Morgan? I'm so sick of seeing him

Morgan's been one of my favorites, but I'm not wild about this version of him. OTOH, a character who is always exactly the same, never goes through any changes, never has any crises of faith, and doesn't grow and evolve is boring. They're a two-dimensional caricature, not a real person we can identify with.

For everyone's excitement - the comics are not finished. They are still being written. The end game is still not on paper. Anything can still happen and it's up in the air.

Currently the comics are set on Negan. After Negan (if?) is still unknown.

So soon enough, like GoT, we will all be in the dark.

They just need to kill off Carol now since Cornball was finally killed off. After that I think I will be able to stand the rest of the characters and the show can finally carry on.

I agree with the statement made on how the pigs will slowly affect the Survivors. But maybe this is the first time their offerings have been pigs so we may see soon enough what happens.

I also too believe at some point towards the decline of both TWD and FTWD that the characters will meet at some point or will cross similar paths/locations that one of the parties had already been to. Just for a little 'Easter Egg', if you will.

I finally gave up on my theories for this show and am just now (somehow) along for the ride.

I recently started over watching the entire series from the beginning. Pretty cool to see it all again, pick up on little subtle stuff that will be important later, and see the development of the characters. Just finished the season 2 episode where Shane opens the barn and the slaughter ensues.

To me, a pretty boring episode.

But it does show the power of Negan. I do like how Daryl stayed his true self and didn't cave in.

I thought this was an amazing episode. JDM is absolutely killing it. I have no idea what he is going to do. I now fully believe that no one is safe outside of Rick, which is something the show failed to do prior to this season.

The scene where he talks about Lucille not being thirsty was amazing because I thought he was going to kill Daryl right there but he turned it into a sick joke.

The whole stealing Dwight's wife thing is completely insane too. I now feel terrible for Dwight after completely hating him.

Me too. I was surprised how easily the story line was able to flip the script on him. I'd like to think he is a big part of taking down JDM, but my gut says he'll be one of the folks who will get acquainted with Lucille this season.

Decent episode, imo.

Season 6 seemed way more fast-paced that this from the start. I was expecting much more. Especially how episode 1 kicked off the season.

I think things are going to pick up next episode. Nothing could follow up episode 1 in terms of action/emotion... the last two where set-up episodes. I think the rubber will meet the road next week setting up Rick and the rest of the crew's situation, but I think sheet starts to happen going forward.

I don't disagree.

I want revenge on Negan for killing Glenn and Abraham, but at the time I kinda like him. Conflicted.

You guys think that the field of walkers are for two reasons:

1) Defense - level of protection
2) To show what happens to deserters and traitors

"Little pigs, little pigs, let me in."
"Eeny, meany, miney, moe."

Some of Negan's best stuff comes from children's nursery rhymes and games  Much like Marvel hit a home run with casting Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, I think Jeffery Dean Morgan IS Negan. He's bringing him to life in a fantastic way, he's doing a great job portraying the cynical, humorous side with the right dose of charisma and attitude. I like the way he's getting into everyone's head, he breaks everyone around him down.

Good episode other than so many commercials. Rick is a p***y after watching Glenn and Abraham die. I have to say, before this new season, I was thinking about giving up on it (like I did with FTWD), but now I want to keep watching. Negan...love and hate him at the same time!

I thought a few seasons ago that the future of the Walking Dead was going to hinge on Negan's entrance and who ended up playing him. He doesn't use as much colorful language as he should, but I think JDM is doing just fine without it. He's the best character on the show right now with only a few episodes to his credit.

I don't think this is a bombshell, pretty sure this was hinted at way back at the prison.

Yeah, I was always under the impression it was understood it was Shane's kid, but Rick wasn't going to come out and say it. I can't say I was shocked when the words came out. I would have been more shocked if he said he knew Judith was his.

On another note, it's funny how creepy, psychological, and lethal Negan is...yet on the surface he sometimes acts like an 8 year old. Many of his sayings are rooted in childish phrases and nursery rhymes. You've got the Eeny Meeny Miny Moe standoff with Lucille. You had the Three Little Pigs this week. He's pulled the pants pissing "Pee Pee City" a few times. It all just adds to the character. Can you imagine if Negan would have just bashed in the skulls of two of Rick's crew without Eeny Meeny Miny Moe? It helped make that scene, I don't think it would have been quite as memorable (Although the deaths would have still had a big impact).

In related news, did anyone see SNL this weekend? I thought this was decent:

"I just stuck my dick down your throat and you thanked me for it."

lol pretty colorful to me.

I remember skimming through a page or two (literally just one or two) about Negan in the comics i found online and i came across this phrase. I was hoping he'd say it in the show to bring out the color or Negan.

Thought that episode was kind of odd. However I did like all the symbolism of how Rick was "turning into" Negan by the end of the episode.

Thought I'd share since I probably wasn't the only one confused to what Michone found at the end of the episode. But it was all of the mattresses that Neagan's group took. They didn't even need the stuff they took, they just burned it.

Thanks, I did have some questions about that. I rewound it twice and couldn't really tell given the angle and distance.

Would it kill Serta to provide some product placement to help spell some things out?!

Good stuff. I was wondering this as well.

Also I was just trying to remember, have the saviors used many bullets? The gun Rosita found was empty, negan uses a bat. Dwight uses the crossbow and was very reluctant to use that one bullet to shoot his buddy in the back.

Maybe they don't have many bullets? Just a thought, perhaps that could help level the playing field for Rick and gang.

They were in a shootout with when Dwight killed their Doctor with the arrow to the eyeball.

Also, when they were trying to get Maggie to the Hilltop they were shooting at their feet or what have you.

...also, bullets make a lot of noise. Which draws walkers.

Is it just me, or is Jeffery Dean Morgan overacting? I mean, the swaying back and forth, the drawing out his words and phrases...It's cheesy to me.

You're not the only one.
Everyone seems to be praising the performance, but I'm annoyed.

I thought that too, and actually posted about how stupid he came off at the end of the last season because of it. But now, his idiocies make me hate him even more, which I guess is the big picture of the villain, so I now think it's right on.

I don't think he's overacting. Everything I've read suggests he's playing the character exactly how it was intended per the comic. Just a savvy, charismatic, jokester who will end your shit in a heartbeat and do it while grinning.

This is Negan. Jeffery Dean Morgan is actually playing him very well imo, he's not actually overacting. If you follow the comics, Negan has a kind of...over the top personality like that. He's very charismatic, very intense, and yes kind of cheesy...but ultimately he's pure evil. So, if you don't like Negan I would direct your criticism towards Kirkman for the character and not really JDM. That's why people are praising his performance and why he's already nominated for an award.
