Moving forward, political threads will be located in their own sub-forum within the Leprechaun Lounge. The only change that is coming with this move is that political threads will not display on the default "front page" any longer. You will have to go to the political sub-forum to find them. All other Leprechaun Lounge posts will continue to display on the front page.

Many popular existing political threads have already been moved to the sub-forum found here -- http://www.irishenvy.com/forums/political-threads/ In the coming days, more threads will be moved over. Permanent redirects will remain within the Leprechaun Lounge for all posts that are moved.

We encourage political discussion on this site, and no rules are changing with regard to political discussion within these threads. The primary impetus behind this change is to "de-clutter" the front page from political posts unrelated to Notre Dame. Please let us know if you have any questions/comments on this change.

Will they still show up on New Posts, User CP, and the Tapatalk timeline?

Would it be worth restricting viewing of those threads to members only?

Can we move VBook stuff to a sub forum as well?

I know many like it, but it stinks logging on some days and seeing 12 betting threads.

They will definitely still show up in your User CP. I don't use Tapatalk so I'll have to get back to you on this.

vBook is already in a sub-forum so we'd just have to toggle the display properties. We'll discuss this suggestion.

Dislike. The vBook threads often become the default discussion threads for games that don't have their own.

Yeah but every Sunday when I log on they clog up the front page when we should be discussing the college football world. Just my opinion..

^^^

Sundays are really the only day it’s inconvenient. All the CFB discussion gets booted.

The change will increase clicks - or average number of page views per visitor. - but may decrease average visit duration. I'd put "Political Threads" in its own forum under Outside the Lines.

Respectfully disagree. There hasn't been a vBook post in five hours.

These are contradictory statements. There’s tons of hockey games, the World Series, and every NFL game on. No one has felt the need to discuss any of them in vBook threads.

If anyone really wants to talk about other sports (I do many times for instance) bump the Boys of Summer thread or for NFL, have a “Week 3 Watch Party” thread like we do for CFB now. Point is, it’s mainly a Notre Dame football board, any many have good comments in old recruiting profile threads, past and future opponents threads, or coaches threads. But wake up at 10:00 on Sunday and all but a few will get lost in the shuffle due to 12 threads that won’t have more than a “Bets settled” post in them. For every thread that gets 8 posts about an exciting game, there’s probably 25 that get no posts besides about the bets being settled.

Sorry for hijacking this politics thread but I figured some might share my small complaint.

What if it was just changed so that every game for each Saturday/Sunday was placed under one thread. So "vBuck CFB 10/28" would just have the odds for every single game. Bet on whatever games you'd like all right there.
