I hate any play on the goal line that doesn't give players time to get open. Unless you're throwing a fade to a tall WR, you're better off rolling out so receivers can create more space.

That's hilarious. And true.

And it is not hilarious for the same reason it is true, either! Taylor is a turd (only time this year I slammed a player and it feels good. Taylor and the rapist are the only two I will slam, too!)

I also had fun watching two ND commits contributing to the game, Taylor Decker and Justice Hayes! WOW! Just kidding.

Two guys from my old high school played in the game, too. (Graduated 30 some years later, though.)

That was one of the most entertaining games I've ever seen. Love the decision to go for 2 but hate the play call.

The play call was my main point of contention as well. No problem going for it personally, but I can see both sides of the argument.

My main gripe is that they showed that formation AND showed the slot in motion right before OSU called timeout. So OSU knows the formation and planned what to do with their defense, and then Michigan comes out of the timeout and runs the same damn play???

During the TO I was explaining to my wife that UM would now change the play since OSU knew what was coming lol. Then I was screaming to my wife 'WTF are they doing???' Stupid stupid stupid imo.

Hoke asked seniors during timeout if they wanted to go for two. Every one said yes

Nothing like putting your biggest call of the season in the hands of the team. What the hell do you think they were gonna say.

BTW, statistically, going for 2 is probably the right call? Anyone got numbers on that?

This heartbreaking loss and Cornell not making the trip for the biggest scUM game of the year make for a very happy irishfanjho.

With his starting kicker out, it was probably the right call. Michigan fans and Hoke haters will crucify him for it, though.

The players made the right decision by going for 2 IMHO. I just don't think a head football coach should go to his players for a decision like that.

What would you guys think if BK did this?

I was at the game and it was amazing. I absolutely love Hoke going for it and you guys keep asking what he's selling to get these classes he gets? That's it in a nutshell. Ask your seniors what you want to do vs your biggest rival in a game you were favored to lose by 17 points at home. BALLS OF STEEL. They don't make it, its on Hoke's shoulders with a nod to the seniors who called to go for it, you win you become an instant UM legend.

Listen, neither team was stopping the other team all day. Gardner in the air, OSU on the ground. Gardner was hurt (at the presser he was in a boot). You just scored and had the momentum on your side. You are 7-4 and have nothing to lose and everything to gain. The longer the OTs went (and they would have gone on for a long time) the more it favored OSU. Your backup up kicker is flaky at best.

Absolute right call 10 out of 10 times. Now, if UM is 10-1, 11-0? That changes I think. Too much on the line. They are going to a second tier bowl so it really doesn't matter.

Also as NDinLA stated, great decision VERY bad play call.

wasn't there a TE lined up on the left side

When I rewatched it there may have been, but he actually stayed in to block the backside and there was never an option releasing off that side of the line. After thinking about it, I see the side of going for it, but that had to be about the worst play call in that situation. Seems you would want as many options as possible as it could be, and was, their last offensive play of the game. But their fanbase has had as many issues with the play calling as we have with ours.

I can almost see our coaches not rolling Tommy out, but with Gardner? Was his leg hurt badly? If that was the case that may have made the difference, but you still need receivers to keep moving around!

His leg was in a boot after the game.

If I were them, I would have went either shotgun 5 wide or shotgun 4 wide with a te and run a qb draw up the middle with Gardner. Put the game on his legs not his arm.

Thats what baffles me now. Why no WR or TE on the left side. The field is compressed on the 2 pt conversion favoring the D. You gotta get more space and give someone an opportunity to make a play.
