There exists no better ending than Michigan losing in the playoffs, Harbaugh exiting for the NFL (and taking many of his staff) and the NCAA delivering a sentence that includes abdication of games played over the last couple years.

But only after Kelly us locked in as HC, then NCAA cab hit them with a no playoff ban and loss of scholarships.

At this point I'm hoping Penix has the greatest game a QB has ever had and beats them. But its looking like I am going to have to suffer at the hands of my associates when M wins the natty. I want to vomit.

He should have stayed on the bus.

I'll be elated when he's in Chicago and Michigan has to vacate all their wins from the last 3 seasons, because they're cheater-cheater-pumpkin eaters.
Surely the cheating didn’t carry over into their hard games - OSU, Bama and Washington. They went into those games without the advantage from knowing the play calls.
Harbaugh did a phenomenal job.

You know who won that game for them? Their D Line. They messed up Penix with four guys all night, and Washington couldn't run for shit either.

I'm not happy for anyone associated with the University of Michigan this morning except for Mike Elston.

Absolutely hate everything about this. But I guess if there's a silver lining it shows that ND actually can win a Natty one day. Hair ball built his team exactly how we need to with physical line play and a few sprinkles of stars and speed at the skill positions. Please let me see just one before I die. I was alive for 88 but not old enough to appreciate it.

Gonna be a rough week. When these types of things happen, I just stay away from ESPN, social media, etc. for a few days.

By the time the NFL playoffs start this weekend, nobody will be talking about it anymore.

Stay strong, you all can do this.

Thing I love about going to a 12 team playoff is it's going to make things a lot better for teams like Michigan and ND to win it all. Also it's going to stop these guys from opting out of bowl games also will generate revenue for the school. On paper our roster is better than Michigan there is no reason why we shouldn't be competing for a title for the next 4-5 years.

A few Notre Dame players cheat academically and self-reports. NCAA forces them to vacate 21 wins.

Michigan systemically cheats for a few years. Staff and players in on it, but they put up a wall. Here's a natty for your troubles.

Pretty much. Harbaugh is also going to quit now so he can escape accountability and run his mouth about being "innocent."

ND should not have "cooperated," or whatever, with the NCAA. That's the lesson of the UNC episode.

What have the Chicago Bears done in the last 5 decades that would lead you to believe they will not only pay him to be their head coach but give him player personnel authority on top of that? It isn't happening.

I'd bet money on Minter being in the NFL soon.

I think Harbaugh is arrogant enough to stick around and not do the Pete Carroll exit plan, but it depends on who might come after him. L.A. Chargers is the one I keep hearing. The Panthers now need a GM and HC as well.

The consequences really don't mean anything at this point. They won it on the field, same as those SC teams did. Vacating things isn't a real punishment.

And he leaves a Saint now, forever etched in lore. If they tripped up, it becomes a venomous and delicious exit.

I used to like Fowler.

Then I kind of got annoyed by him. He hit a point doing the Saturday night primetime games where he started to call the game like HE was the one creating the big moments with his voice. He does this thing where he makes his voice super deep and stretches out his words... I understand it's his style, but you can tell when he's too eager to make a big call and does that stupid shit when he shouldn't. He kind of did it on scUM's INT return late in the fourth last night. He started to get ahead of himself and thought he was about to put the exclamation point on a scUM dagger TD, but he had to put an awkward pause in the middle of a huge call because it didn't quite pan out.

Now I feel general animosity towards him when I'm listening to a game he's calling, because I know it's coming. He's really not that good of a play-by-play guy at this point, IMO. He often steps on Herbie's color commentary, trying to be too involved on that side, and you can clearly tell when he's got a preference in the game.

I think 2018 ND vs VT might have been the one where I lost the last bit of respect I had for him. He called early VT big plays with excitement, and saved his reserved, deeeep voice for ND, but only when they took control later. It was painfully obvious that he was banking on calling a great VT home win against mighty ND.

Idk, I might just be too grumpy about scUM right now... but my point stands that Fowler is not a top play-by-play guy at this point. He's just there because the whole ESPN CFB crew is cool kids club, not a professional organization.

This is what bothers me most. He becomes some kind of martyr. Carroll left SC after a 5-4 season in the PAC 12. They went 9-4 overall.

This ends with Harbaugh leaving after a championship season and what they'll claim is an NCAA witch hunt. Everyone should know the drill.

You can't self-report, cooperate, or even entertain any NCAA investigations. They have no clout and must be told to kick rocks. Being proactive and doing the right thing will only lead them to making an example out of you, while giving a slap on the wrist to others.

I'm still pissed to this day that our AD, Woodward, purposefully and proactively fired Will Wade after being served with a "Notice of Allegations" by the NCAA. By doing so, he murdered and buried an enthusiastic, uprising program. The NCAA, of course, then piled on after that.

Likewise, what did they do to Kansas? They didn't even give them (Kansas / Bill Self) a "slap on the wrist"; rather, it equated to more of a "pat on the back." Refresh men, what did the NCAA do to UNC after its academic cheating scandal? Oh yeah...nothing.
