SCOTUS averages around 80-90 matters annually on the shadow docket per year. As soon as that donk started talking about climate change, I tuned out. He suffers from TDS.

Definitely a victory for Democracy to not eliminate birthright citizenship, but not sure if the Court's campaign finance ruling that lifted a Watergate-era cap on how much money political parties may spend in coordination with candidates is a good thing.

Buddy, this is just not true.
The venn diagram of people telling her to resign because "intimidation" and the people butthurt about the birthright citizenship case is a circle.
I am guessing you saw some bar chart on twitter that shows "stats" that her likelihood of signing onto "conservative" opinions is lower after Dobbs.
If its the chart im thinking of, it doesn't provide much of any support for its claims. Nor does it include "data" for 2025 or 2026. Although who knows how helpful that would really be because we don't know what the creator considers conservative. (Im presuming he just means Alito/Thomas).
If ACB provided the same testimony verbatim, but had sided with the dissent in the birthright case, the exact same group of people demanding her resignation would be lamenting the threats of violence our Justices are subjected to and applauding her for sharing her experience. It's very transparent to anyone with eyes, ears, and a functioning brain.

Didn't see your reply when I found the source post. Keg City Kav got pissed - she looks and talks scared. If she is scared, she is influenced and compromises the court. Thomas is still the gold standard - as is his video above. I have anecdotal beef over the most consequential decision the court has probably made in my lifetime supporting my bias that she is running scared and doesn't want her or her family to be (at minimum) impacted socially. If I could make a video that is antithetical to "steely resolve" it would be hers.
Like a lawyer you say you don't know what data feeds it therefore it is invalid. Then you strawman "if she did different then slackjaws would be butthurt for different reasons." F straight off with that T-Gold nonsense and address the point at hand. It doesn't even make logical sense. If she stood up after doing the right thing in the face of threats she would be commended. I am offering the talking point out to people that (should) know more than me in the area for rebuttal while admitting I am heavily compromised with confirmation bias. Rather than provide any substance to back her up you call me deaf, blind and dumb. Thanks for reinforcing my views on the utility of lawyers.

{{this is not in response to anything in particular, and especially not this thread}}: Whether people think it a respectable concern or not, I have for some time worried about movements on several fronts to alter our Constitution and use force to establish a dominant control for certain "interests." I worry about the almost diabolically clever and effective ability of the current POTUS to scare the Hell out of persons in Congress and control that branch of government. I worry about mass retiring/firing so many senior military general officers and long-serving intelligence agency leaders. I worry about the incredible lack of qualifications and even mental "sense" of most of the Cabinet members (how anyone can watch those people and not cringe mystifies me.) I've worried about the Power of Wealth dominating media messaging ... and I've worried some about the SCOTUS (which is why this post is here.). In world history, whether some wish to chuckle away about it or not, this has often not bode well for democracy and true freedoms.
But I've blundered into one (small and foolish?) factor that just might block the Behemoth's path. Of the 9 Supreme Court justices, SIX are Catholics. One other was raised Catholic. OK. I'm a fool; who cares? But I am going to trust my Faith and my upbringing and think, just this once optimistically. I am going to believe that when/if Trump seriously tries to violate the Constitution to permanently establish himself or some close legacy of himself, it will not be the regular right/left split which will manifest, but that almost all of SCOTUS will take the Moral High Road of defending STRICTLY the Constitution. In this I am particularly believing that Roberts will stand up and say "NO" to trumpian anti-Constitutional changes/threats. Maybe even with a caved-in Congress, a "manicured" military, and a collection of cabinet cretins, we will still have one leg of the tripod acting Constitutionally against the Big Wind. That the Court's "Catholicism" might work against certain liberal views is not what concerns me just now. What I hope out of it is the "conservation" of my America at its Foundation (and deep minded moral concerns about trumpian violations.)

I certainly hope and pray as well that this is the case. I've always believed that the one constant about New Testament writings is that they contain Jesus' message of radical love, a message that endures no matter how much the Catholic Church and history tries to minimize it. And they are always there as seeds of change.
That said, I nonetheless worry about this court not getting in Trump and this admin's way for three reasons:
1) The Court majority seems to have an inclination to not have the Court go against the Executive branch and its operational decision making
2) They seem especially to defer to this president when he does things for "emergency" reasons and in the interest and safety of the country
3) Even when the Court does go against Trump, at the end of the day, the Executive branch and its departments ARE the enforcement branch for Judicial decisions, and this executive admin has demonstrated in its actions a refusal to follow the Court's decisions that go agains them most of the time

In some rulings, this has been the case, but as I said, when it comes to emergency power actions, this court has mostly abdicated its authority to check the President’s actions.

I believe that I get that, as much as (admittedly) I have not followed specific legal issues though.
But what I'm counting on is the Court's ability to see through REALLY EXTREMIST things that The POTUS-Pig might try.
Certain "emergency BS" can, of course, be floated by The Pig, but if it is clearly baseless power grabbing, I hope that SCOTUS says "NO."
If they say "NO" resoundingly, then the military might not back the crazier Orange PIGmentations, and Constitution survives.

Some of you sound unwell as it pertains to the Supreme Court. They have a job. They do it. Three of them are reliably liberal. One of those three is quite good at her job. Three or four are relatively moderate legal conservatives. They do their jobs fine. Two or three are pretty legally conservative (depending on the subject).
They do their job. Its often quite complicated work. Oddly enough, the biggest complaints ive seen about them is that they defer to Congress to do Congress things, and let the executive do things the executive should do.
A lot of the complaints seem like policy complaints. Something the Court is least positioned to address.

Actually, if you carefully read my comments/reply. I'm saying it's exactly that, the court will likely not go against any "emergency powers" action Trump takes (meaning they don't see that as part of their job). The executive branch taking this step in and of itself is the problem. The admin can basically agitate chaos and then (or even without anything instigated) call in the guard and other forces to restore order to the chaos or rights not being protected; and we simply just need to take their word for it even though it could be complete bullshit leveraged to interfere and suppress the vote.
Just look at Los Angeles a year ago...

Biden was embraced as an extension of Obama (we all knew he was a fucking puppet but some loved the idea of the divider in chief getting another term). YOU'RE easily manipulated if you actually, truly think that Trump is the least politically connected; maybe, he's not connected in the traditional way Democrat and Republican presidents have been connected, but oh is he connected.
Altho' it sounds cliche, he is more connected and openly to the Epstein Class than any President (even more than Bill Clinton).
