Imagine someone in a red hat screaming Benghazi or Venezuelan voting machines at you and then scrutinizing you for not entertaining their conspiracy theory.
You guys literally do this, constantly lmao. Even a Trump conviction made some of want to vote for him even more LOL. So, yeah you guys do love a good conspiracy and get all riled up. Tell everyone about the left wing cops or left wing FBI agents lmaoooo they probably went to the same school as the right wing union reps or right wing homeless shelter volunteers.

I gotta think Clarence Thomas writes his opinions on parchment using a quill pen in a study illuminated only by candlelight while wearing a powdered wig and talking out loud in an Olde English accent.

You're the dumbass falling for the scheme. They went the power and will defund or delegitimize anything not firmly under left wing control. From the police to the court. It’s a power grab and the whole left has jumped on it since Roe was overturned.
Some serious projecting here.

They hate law enforcement! Proceed to demonize law enforcement, judges, courts, DA’s etc…

They’re trying to take away our rights! Proceed to take away others rights.

Politicians are corrupt and beholden to big money! Make a ruling that allows dark money to stream into elections.

They’re trying to cram their ideology down our throat! Pass a law requiring the display of the 10 Commandments on public property.

They’re trying to take over the government! Engage in a coup to try to take over the government.

It’s amazing how consistent it is.

Bullshit. You have Clarence Thomas and Neal Gorsuch living like billionaires on bribes from donors with business before the court and Sam Alito accosting his neighbors for supporting democrats in election season. These fuckers aren’t even trying to appear neutral about anything as they strip women of their rights and run interference for a convicted felon. This is the shittiest of shit takes!
Who had business before the court?

What makes this post particularly fun is you couldn't help but tell on yourself in the end. You don't care about gifts or connections...it's purely partisan lol.

Did you care when RBG was taking trips overseas with billionaires with business before the court? Did you care when she didn't recuse from cases where her husband's firm was counsel? Did you care when Sotomayor didn't recuse when one of the parties had paid her millions in book deals?

I'm guessing you didn't. Sorry that killing unborn children became marginally less convenient in some places. Not gonna lie, pretty weird how much that devastates you.

Didn't Kagen post pro- same sex marriage tweets before she ruled on it?

That seems partisan and grounds to recuse herself.

If the rulings are progressive, then conservatives must take it and listen to 'the court has spoken". If the rulings are conservative then 'the court is illegitimate'.

Oh, Andrew Cuomo? I can see why you'd support Cuomo, really leaning into the support the sexual harassment guys! Didn't do the full Trump (Rape).

"Bernie Madoff said that he personally wouldn't want Sam Bankman-Fried to be held accountable!" - You know what guys, maybe Madoff is right!

Absolute insanity. Seeing who liked that post is unsurprising lolol.

Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo says the only reason Trump was prosecuted in New York City is because his last name is Trump and he's on the ballot, case should have never been brought. He’s 100% correct, but sure, pretend that the former Gov of the same state and a Democrat acknowledging the weaponization of government here should just be dismissed. Especially to you throwing out the felon BS.

When people like Cuomo and Blagojevich say it's all political you really need to listen to them, just poor victims of political persecution! Larry Nassar says that Jerry Sandusky wouldn't have faced this scrutiny if he wasn't at a big 10 school!

What about Larry Hogan? A non-convicted criminal?

Trump is a convicted felon and was found liable for sexual assault, these are facts.

The weaponizing of government agencies, especially the justice department and court system, and the completely inappropriate use of government and former government officials using their position, authority, standing, and etc. to knowingly and blatantly lie to the American public and brush off Hunter's laptop as a Russian disinformation campaign so they could win an election is arguably the biggest abuse of public office in US history. This is sleaze and lying on a massive scale for the sake of nothing more than a raw obsessive grasp of power. This is EXACTLY what makes politicians so hated and distrusted and is the epitome of crooked, lying, power-hungry politicians. It's disgusting to see the useful idiots in here and across the country who rant and rave about honesty in politics and some indiscretion by a politician, but turn a blind eye to this sort of major abuse and wrongdoing and won't condemn it at all. Useful idiots and hypocrites.

Cuomo probably was political. I mean the allegations and stuff were definitely worthy of being pushed out. But the timing was pretty convenient. I think he got pushed out over some Covid stuff. I don't think anyone really has sympathy for him.

Rant upcoming, cliff notes here: felony has lost its meaning by our silly definitions.

That Donald is a convicted felon sorta illustrates the position that many people (left and right) hold, that "felony" has been expanded far beyond where it should be.

A felony is just a crime that can be punishable by over one year in jail.

Example of how silly felonies can be: My cousin got busted this spring for collecting contact information and payment for fake ID's at college kids. (The story of how he got caught is very funny and frankly was a bit sketchy by the university post office). Got charged with at least one but maybe two felonies. Something about forging government documents I think. Pled down to a misdemeanor for conspiracy to commit forgery and paid like $2k between his fine and attorneys fees.

Suppose he didn't plead it down though, he would have been a convicted felon (he was probs guilty as sin lol but i dont know the legal elements of that crime). But the stigma or label that goes with being a "felon" really wouldn't have been appropriate given the circumstances. He helped 18-19 year olds get fake ID's to go to shitty college bars for watered down drinks and tap beer in plastic cups.

Does that seem like something meriting at least 365 days in jail? Losing the right to vote? To own a gun? Reasonable minds can differ, but to me - that conduct doesn't merit either a year (or more) in prison, or losing rights.

Cuomo is a clown and the very definition of the "Swamp" so the irony of Drayer et al frothing at the mouth to use him as some sort of bastion of truth telling is hilarious.

I mean, I agree with all your points about a "felon". But it rings awfully opportunistic to see prison reform spoken about when it's Trump. There's plenty of instances in which prison/police reform are much more relevant. He was convicted by a jury under the laws as they presently are, just seems convenient that *now* certain laws/rights need to be revisted.

FTR - I don't believe any convicted felon should lose their right to vote.

Oh I'm not really talking about prison reform at all. Just because you can be sent for more than a year doesn't require a Judge to do so unless there are statutory minimums. Prison reform advocates would probably bite off more than I'd be willing to chew.

I guess my broader point is that being a "felon" has become very watered down, and that fairly menial sins can easily be prosecuted as felonies if you have a a zealous prosecutor.

Accordingly, I would encourage friends/family who ask about different criminals to look at the alleged conduct rather than the label attached to it (felony vs misdemeanor, etc).

As for voting or (particularly) gun rights, I'd prefer a Judge or something like a parole board to handle. I'm not heartless, a lot of people make mistakes or do dumb things without considering the consequences. I don't think we should be barring all of them from participating in civic society or having rights.

But the old school felonies probably merit losing rights.

I agree with you 100%. I don't think you'll get a lot of sympathy/support for this position on IE. Its unfortunate that this position if posted by anyone else would have the same 3/4 posters responding "So, you want criminals to just roam the streets?!!!!".

Felons have a hard time even finding a job. Those who have paid their debt to society and want to rejoin it, should be able too do so more easily IMHO.

Voting is the least of their concerns but sure, after a certain period of time.

We‘ve routinely seen left-wing protestors and officials get a pass, while targeting Republicans. You can riot, do harm, inflict violence, and be above the law if you are aligned with the administration.

Not sure what rights you lament losing, but it certainly appears to be bullshit based on the rest of this post.

Dark money is a stupid problem. We have Swiss billionairres funneling money to the Dem campaigns and can’t stop it.

Ten Commandments will get shutdown in court, likely by a GOP appointed judge that actually applies the law.

Never supported a coup or riots.

Is it projecting or is this just how they depict the America you despise in your bubble?

Bubble? I can pretty much guarantee I personally know more right wing nut jobs than most people on this board. Lol.

I’m surprised you’re not taking a lap for all the Democratic adjacent political officials that have been indicted and or whose houses have been raided by the FBI recently. I suppose it would undermine the narrative you presented in bullet point 1.

End result is that it will delay the trial until after the election, and then become a moot point after he beats Biden easily.

As an official duty of the presidency Biden should just have Trump sent to Guantanamo.

This ruling surprised me, but I admit I haven't read into it to know what constitutes official and non-official.
