Guy needs some serious help. I love our current staff, and I can't remember the last Bad Apple ND hired (O'Leary jokes incoming).

But in all seriousness, I hope that ND never lowers their standards on those they hire, and continues to demand excellence from those they do. It's one thing to get a bad kid, or unfortunate things happening. It's another when you hire individuals with low class, low standards, and low values. It'll always be a reason why I'm proud to be a Notre Dame fan, even when it's a reason that others mock and scorn us.

I feel the need to speak up about this latest issue with Zach and his accusations against a friend of mine. First off, please don’t believe anything he puts out there. He is completely untrustworthy and unstable and I should know since I’ve dealt with him for so long. His attacks against Tom and Michelle Herman aren’t really about Tom, but about Michelle and her friendship with me. He can’t attack her directly, so he has to use her family to try to hurt her.

To begin with, we became close after she left Ohio State and I felt more comfortable confiding in her because Tom was no longer Zach’s superior. At that point in 2015, I confided in her about the physical abuse, among other things that were going on. Because it was the right thing to do, she then passed that information onto Shelley Meyer. They cut off all contact with Zach and once Zach learned of her role in exposing things to Shelley, he became enraged with her. The threats against them began then and because he wanted to isolate me from anyone who could help, any contact with her fueled his rage even more. Michelle never backed down to him and was a constant source of support while I tried to piece my life back together. So much so, that she loaned me money over a year ago to stay in nursing school when I was drowning in legal debt from the divorce.

It is beyond unfair for them to face attacks for simply trying to ensure my safety and the safety of the people that were still on staff at OSU. Neither Michelle or Tom ever spoke to Brett McMurphy about anything that had to do with Zach. That lie was just another one of Zach’s delusions and an attempt by him to damage their reputation. I am the only person that has ever spoken to Brett. For the most part, they have simply remained supportive of my attempts to rebuild my life.

I feel terrible that Michelle has now become his target, but unfortunately that is usually the case for anyone who tries to intervene in domestic abuse situations. However, Michelle is one of the strongest people I know and I know she will carry on as always by caring for and supporting her family and being a great friend.

I'm assuming that Courtney Smith took down the post or something. The gist of the post was that this is another example of the kind of person Zach is. The latest attacks from Zach against Tom Herman is just a way of trying to hurt Tom's wife for what Zach thinks that she did in supporting Courtney.

Courtney confirmed again that despite what Zach thinks, the Herman's did not speak with Brett McMurphy. Courtney and Tom Herman's wife only became close after Tom left for Texas (once Tom Herman was no longer Zach's direct report). She said the Herman's actually gave Courtney money to finish nursing school, since she was drowning in debt from legal bills related to the divorce.

I think both Zach and Courtney are crazy. Part of me is enjoying the Herman stuff, mostly because that douche who used to post here (NDGradstudent) was all over him and wanted us to replace Kelly with him. Hope we never hire anyone connected to OSU or Meyer.

He laid out the facts all around, best he could. Talked to everyone who would talk to him. Pointed out inconsistencies and holes on all sides. Points out some very unusual behavior like Urban Meyer flying to Florida to talk to a freshman WR. It’s very thoroughly reported. This isn’t a one-source hit job.

He doesn’t know what happened and doesn’t claim to. But something weird went down, involving Zach Smith and Urban Meyer, which makes it newsworthy. McMurphy lays out the information as best he can gather and lets the readers draw their own conclusion.

Per Dakich, Meyer called Dakich around noon and told him he was considering legal action. Meyer told Dakich he had his approval to state that on the air. I have to believe Brett feels confident about substantiating anything he writes. His editor has to approve what he writes and I have to believe he makes sure things are vetted properly.

Could it be OSU and Meyer are posturing to avoid more dirty laundry getting exposed? How bad would it look for OSU to keep Meyer and be on the national news again? Not pretty.
