I root for the Vols for a couple of reasons. Back in the late 80's and early 90's "Smokey" was from the same bloodlines as my Bluetick. They were basically cousins. Not sure if it's the same bloodlines today, but my dog won pretty much every major show in '91. My wife loves the color orange so when she saw UT's colors they quickly became her second favorite team.

A very good friend of mine is a UT grad, and took me to a ND game @UT. The fans were great, and living in GA and it's easy to dislike UGA... So boom, UT for me. Not to mention Manning is my favorite Colt of all time. Stadium/fans/best friend/UGA hate

I am afraid all you Vol fans are going to be disappointed this season.

We're disappointed just about every season lol... so it's OK.

Please. TTT and I have adjoining $5mil skybox suites, plus we've both donated a few cars to the Recruit Transportation Assistance program. We've done our part.

I used to give directly to the REC. That way I knew where my money was going. Now that Bishop and me are neighbors, we decided that it was time to let some others donate to the cause.

I think not one but BOTH of you are actually Nick Saban, consistently gauging the pulse of ND to see when it's time to take the job.

Chess not checkers.

I don't know how many ways I can say this and I'm getting pretty tired of repeating myself. I'm not going to address this crap. It's a distraction... noise. You're ruining this whole process and discussion with your rat poison. We're trying to get ready for the season and you keep bringing this stuff up. I'm not Nick Saban. How about you just focus on consistency and doing your job right every time? A'ight?

So, you're not real Bama fans? Is that what you're saying?

I have a confession to make. I've never donated a dime to Bama. I gave them several thousand dollars in tuition fees decades ago and I've bought game tickets and a few shirts & coffee mugs over the years. That's it. I love my alma mater and the sports teams, but when I donate money it's to St. Judes, a kids program, helping a struggling family, etc. Nothing against my school at all. I just support other types of things with my money.

Bama lost a 2nd LB for the season with an ACL injury today. In Saban's presser afterwards he was in vintage form when asked about that and deficiencies in the secondary, and whether he was concerned about it.

"Because you all don't, you just think we just, whatever happens, we just s#!t another player and everything is going to be perfect. All of our fans think that. You all think that. That's what you write about. That's the message you send out there."

You think we can just crap out 5-star linebackers??? You're killing our players with your rat poison!

I dunno, man. Our LB corp got decimated last year. We had at least 6 guys in the regular rotation that missed multiple games or were lost for the season. We were playing freshmen and 3rd stringers by the end. Even our depth has limits. We're already down two LB's for the year with ACL injuries. The starting 4 are good, but we're getting thin behind them. One more injury, and we'll be holding open tryouts. Not to mention that every one of our starting DB's and half our DL from last year are gone. Bama's D may be a pale shadow of its usual self this year. I think that at best, it's gonna be a work in progress and we're going to have to rely on our offense to carry the team and put up a lot of points.

I just hope you beat the crap out of UGA this year. My heart goes out to you, but..... You don't have a top 25 opponent till November, so I think yall will be fine lol..

You guys have signed like 15-20 top 10 at their position (a bunch of top 5) on the front seven the past 4 years. Saban needs to get stronger rat poison.

Obviously having several top recruits helps, but not all those guys turn into college studs. A few injuries, a few duds and we're in trouble. At best, most of our D, no matter how talented, simply don't have much experience. We're going to have about 3 or 4 returning stars and a bunch of replacements on D this year. They better grow up fast and live up to their potential or we're going to struggle stopping any team with a pulse. I think Tua's gonna have to light it up every game and pile up the points for us to have a good season.

I think Tua is going to be electric. If you're D comes around by Nov, you will have zero issues in the West, and vs the East in the conf championship. MissSt is probably your biggest challenge and you have them, and Auburn at home.

Injuries can really take their toll on a team. It's amazing how the can occur. Deon Cain for the Colts tore his ACL jogging in a straight line the other night.

Weird how that stuff happens. Guys get hammered over & over with no problem and then get injured doing virtually nothing. You see players make a cut and their leg folds up. They roll an ankle stepping off a curb.

Paul Finebaum called Saint Nick classless for his post game tantrum about the QBs... lol

I get where he's coming from, but he definitely could've given a more polite answer. She handled it well and didn't let it knock her off stride.

As to her question, anybody who saw the game knows the answer. Jalen looked OK, but Tua balled out.

Thanks! Yeah, I'd call that classless

I actually disagree. Media don’t report anymore, they drive the narrative and their certainly trying to drive the narrative in this QB situation. Maybe he could of been less forceful but good on him for sticking up for his team. You can bet his QBs appreciate his comments.

Agree. Media on the whole can get bent. They know what they're doing, and calling them on it is only classless because most coaches play along.

SI and several other sources are reporting that Saban called Taylor last night to apologize for being short-tempered and snapping at her, and they're good. Word is, Saban's wife Miss Terry "expressed her disapproval" to him for being rude to Taylor. :)

She didn't ask anything along the lines of who is #1. She asked if Saban saw anything from the 2 quarterbacks that he liked. But Saban started assuming and jumped to conclusions. Saban created this problem/QB "controversy". Tua is head and shoulders above Hurts in just about everything when it comes to being a QB. If Saban can't see that, then no one can really help him.

I don't care much ala or saban but in this case he's right- give it a rest-you saw the game they are way over the top and she's particularly without thought or just plain in your face stupid It is nice to see him agitated I must say but these questions are meant for one thing espn controversy.

Bama with Tua looks utterly unstoppable. He's like a goddamn cheat code given the other pieces on that team.

She didn't ask him any question she wasn't supposed to ask or that he shouldn't have expected. I think he's just trying to manage a difficult situation where a player who's done a LOT for the team, is a great kid, and that he truly likes is being supplanted. He knows Tua is clearly the better QB, but doesn't want Hurts to feel pushed aside and his contributions not appreciated. It's a difficult tightrope to walk for him and he's probably tired of being asked about it.
