He'd be taking a pay cut to go Cincy. Probably a sizable cut because I’d guess if anything he’d probably get a new contract offer from ND if he actually told Freeman he had an offer. Doesn’t matter that he was just extended last year, gotta do everything you can to retain him. If he’s willing to take a pay cut, there’s really not much you can do

Just watched the Singer, Hyde, and Goolsby prediction show. Hyde made a comment to the effect "Golden is a guy who's gonna be in the NFL come Tuesday." Singer replied "chill, chill." Sounded like Singer was trying to cover up Hyde's slip up. Regardless, Golden and the rest of this staff have done wonders this year. Appreciate it. The II referenced Mickens has already been calling some plays this year. Sounds like Golden really leans on him. If he has been responsible for even 25% of the pass defense game plans, he deserves a shot.

Almost certainly going to take a ~$500k (or more) hair cut in salary if he leaves. If he leaves it will be bc he wants to be a NFL DC / NFL HC in the future. He’s only 55.
