So was there a block to the main 3 Florida schools or not?

I saw a tweet somewhere that FSU, UM, and UF were in fact blocked. I'll try to find it if it hasn't already been posted.

EDIT (sorry if this has already been posted):

Notre Dame won't release stud DE Aaron Lynch to FSU, UF or Miami, per a source. Hearing USF is the leader on this one. -- Bruce Feldman (@BFeldmanCBS)

Glad to hear the 3 were blocked...

Going to USF is still being generous (though at least an ND guy Skip is there)...I personally being as bitter as I am still 24 hours later...would not let him go anywhere in Florida...

Lynch still needs to finish the semester though? Won't that be a little awkward for him? Hope its as uncomfortable as hell for him...

Right, I saw that but he and his source are the only ones saying that. Someone else said there was an update from 247 they made it seem like there were no restrictions.

He came, he tried it out, he lacked the qualities necessary to make ND home. Agreed, it does not speak well of his maturity and dedication at this point...but I can't see trying to limit his choices as an option. He is not the enemy...he has been in the trenches wearing the gold helmet. He was unable to adapt and that is that..

I don't buy this "he lacked the qualities necessary" argument? The fact is Aaron Lynch has a lot of options. He wasn't happy at ND. So he left. The term "quality" can be subjective and broad.

Quality for Aaron might include being in a warm climate. It mights be being close to his girlfriend and back closer to his friends. There's nothing wrong with wanting that. He can still play for a quality football program and get a quality education if he wants one. A case could be made that he was more mature for knowing himself and choosing an environment that is more conducive to meeting his overall well being.

The only thing that will tell us about Lynch's qualities is what he does from now on. We'll see how he does down the road. I don't think anybody can predict the future regarding this decision and what it means for Lynch.

Wait, what? Why would they prevent Aaron from transferring to a school in Florida besides Miami? (who we play). Thats pretty cruel IMO because it sounds like he transferred to be with his gf in the first place. Love the staff but if true, I'm going to lose a lot of respect.

I'm going to lose 0 respect. We shouldn't let him transfer to a school like FSU or UF who we recruit against regularly.

Absolutely limit his options. You can't just go and do as you please in life. Make a thoughtful decision and stick to it. I don't feel sorry for him and won't cater to him. He quit on his team. If he appeals and wins, fine, the process won but make an example, think twice before joining.

My bad everyone. At first I thought USF was being blocked too, which is what pissed me off. Sorry to waste everyone's time. I agree now with everyone else.

This. Also, the only person reporting a "block" is Feldman. Obviously, every school blocks transfers to schools they play against... so that's Miami. Only reason we got Amir is because USC is under sanctions and still needed to cut ~8 scholarships and Kiffin for whatever reason said "sure, go ahead." I've heard reports ranging from they just didn't care to Amir threatened to spill beans on recruiting violations if they tried to block him to USC can't block transfers anywhere but PAC 12 schools while under sanctions. Who knows why it went through, and I really don't care either. That's on USC.

If Florida and FSU don't want to get get blocked, maybe they shouldn't try to poach our committed recruits and/or feed them lies. How on earth can you have sympathy for either of those programs?

There are also more reports that FSU isn't even interested in Aaron. Hard to believe, but it's out there... and out there with more frequency than Feldman's "block" source.

Yeah totally. If they were blocking USF too that would be a huge "wtf?" moment.

USF is the closest school to where he lived, by far. Also, I heard FSU wouldn't talk to him and with his inconsistencies, I doubt that UF would, with the mess they are trying to clean up anyway. Sanction City, I mean Miami doesn't seem to have much to do with anything. That is half or a third the distance to ND, but across Alligator Alley, instead of up 75.

So, see most of these comments have nothing to do with anything, (reality based.)

USF may be an option but Skippy will probably take the Arkaknsas job or some other job after next year.

Hopefullu Aaron doesnt turn into one of those high profile frosh/recruits you never hear of or who wind up being a free agents/non draft picks. How about Central Florida or Florida Atlantic?

The more people give him sh!t on twitter or facebook, the less he'll regret his decision. We want him to regret this, not think it was the right thing to do.

I go to the Rolfs gym every friday. Yesterday was the first time I saw Aaron Lynch there. He came with Niklas, Shembo, Deion Walker (I think) and some other guys I didn't recognize.

There wasn't any room on the courts for those guys to play, so they just sat there for about an hour and a half. (Hercules eventually played badminton). I was hoping Aaron was just sitting there with his buds, really thinking how much he was going to miss ND. I'm hoping for a change of heart for him.

I don't know if I get this rationale. We won the recruiting battle, he came to ND, gave it a year, and decided ND isn't for him and he wants to be closer to home. Why should we have hard feelings about that? I think it's fair to prevent him from transferring to any school on our schedule for the next four years, but other than that I dont care where he goes. His transferring to a school we recruit against may even help us in recruiting ... Maybe a recruit decides there's more playing time up for grabs at ND than FSU b/c Aaron Lynch is at FSU now, so he picks ND.

Why do we want him to regret this? Why does ANYONE want to wish anything negative on this kid?

There are a few posters on here that have taken the "low road" admittedly and I'd just love to know what pleasure they get out of it.

There are more people involved in this, like Aaron's mother. I hope he goes to USF, lights it up and makes it to the NFL so he can buy that beautiful woman a ****ing mansion..

Bad things happen and people throw up their hands and lament. Oh, how could this happen, the world is such a terrible place.

Then we work back into our comfortable lives and wait for the next bad thing to happen.

People want (as always) to assign a simple answer to all the ill in this world. I will tell you, it ain't that simple.

Look at this thread if you want to see why the world at times can be such a brutal place. It's not in the terrorists mind, the enemy's bullets, the serial killers heart, or the heartless politicians desires. It is in the minds and behaviors of the "normal" people all around us every day.

LOOK AT THIS THREAD! This shiit cray!

How ironic is it that a bunch of otherwise well adjusted adults say such stupid things and and feed the narcisistic heart of the beast, (college football recruiting). Alice may or may not have anything to do with this other than posses a mother's great love for her son. My advice: Stop all being a bunch of douches, and lock this thread.

It's dumb and trashy what people say on twitter. It's also dumb for the mom of a college football player to add countless "followers" and not expect to catch crap when their kid pulls the garbage that he did. Not defending people trashing either one of the two on twitter, but it's also naive not to expect it.
