HereCome, you like to venture out where the ice (or skin) is thin, don't you.
I must admit, I chortled.
By my comments, I mean no disrespect to any member herein, and least of all the original poster and those who agree with him/her.
You're cool man. No biggie. It's one of those things, I would call it a "locker room mentality". When I played football in college no kind of joke or f*cking around was off limits, because we were all brothers. Even the guys who didn't really like each other all that much. I feel like it's the same here. I have only been around since September of '11 but I feel like "one of the guys". It's just the way it is. We go through up and downs together, we may not like everything everyone says all the time, but we do all have a common interest and goal in mind and it's a love of ND football. That's the best way I can explain the social phenomenon that is Irish Envy.
Onward to Victory! Notre Dame and general college football discussion. Mature, intelligent discussion invited.
I can understand the locker room mentality. I personally don't have a problem with it. When I was a young buck in the Navy, we often said things to each other that I would never have dreamed of saying to anyone outside of uniform. There were a ton of "F you"s, and "You f'er"s thrown around.
And then we grew up.
You can rationalize it any way you want, but it sure as hell isn't mature. Like I said, I don't have a problem with it, but I do have a problem with people mocking someone else for simply asking (not complaining, asking) for it to be toned down a bit.
I understand what you're saying KMoose and it was not my intention to mock. I think, based on his responses, Autry understands from the context of the sum of my posts in this thread that it, indeed, was not the case. The post you quoted was a representation of the phenomenon that I see from a sociological standpoint, of which I am classically trained. No harm was meant, only trying to put to post what I see/saw.
I understand. And I probably should have quoted another post. There were others that were just downright immature and rude, unlike yours.
I agree. I think you should smoke out all of the offenders and make them eat their words. I think it's so beneath an ND man to have to endure this madness.

For whatever its worth, I agree with the OP. Now, I don't really care. I never would have said anything, but I just want to back the OP up a little, since most of the reaction has been against him. I just don't get how **** and fart jokes are funny. The sophomoric stuff falls outside of my sense of humor, I guess.
So anyways, you guys carry on with whatever allows you to enjoy the board. Just keep in mind that not everyone thinks it is as hilarious as you do.
I couldn't figure out where to post this, but after looking at this thread, this is as good of a place as any.
My sister-in-law said the Fighting Irish was politically incorrect... which is what gave me this idea. - Imgur
The guy has an honest request, and a couple of you have mocked it. Others have told him to ignore it ... I know for me, I think the jokes are immature and stupid ....
Don't be so "hard on" yourself. Wood you feel better if I gave you some reps in return? I guess the "rub out" of everything being said is that some things are tolerable on a Notre Dame Board and others are just boners. Hopefully others will be able to "whip it" back into shape.
in all honesty some of the "arousal" jokes made by older posters about guys my age are pretty creepy
I have to admit to thinking it was somewhat funny when it was original, but its gotten a bit tedious.
What arouses one sexually is a different, private matter. In recruits' threads keep it private.'Nuf said.
Now THIS is funny. Embedded for everyone's benefit:
