the highlights posted on page one are impressive but does anybody know how good or bad the competition is in his area

Midway played some well-known teams last year (Kileen, Copperas Cove, Temple & Mansfield) but were absolutely smoked by the best team they played when it came to the playoffs - Waxahachie. The other team they lost to were only slightly better in the rankings.

Maxpreps had Midway ranked inside the Top 100 for Texas HS teams last year. All of their wins came against programs no better than 300 in the state rankings.

I guess best answer to your question was his competition was above average. It's still Texas football, after all.

Really nice pick up! Better than his ranking, much like JD Price who was criminally underrated in high school. Now go get one of Segarra or Ben to pair him with and you will have brought in awesome complimentary RBs in back-to-back years..

Boom! Whisen right by defenders! He looks skinny now, can’t wait to see him gain the seemingly compulsory 20 lbs to his biceps that all our RBs seem to gain their freshman year.

ISD gave him a 92 grade. I think 92-93 is probably appropriate, with upside above that considering his size / speed. I don’t see how you can watch that junior tape + see his offer list and give this guy a 89 247. Rivals has him #172 overall which feels more appropriate.

His running style reminds me of Josh Adams. Has great speed, can make one cut and go. Would like to see a bit more lateral movement.
He looks faster than Adams to me. Loved Adams but this kid appears to have more straight line speed. Really like the film a lot. Supposedly a weight room addict and track star. Loves to run through people clearly indicating his mind is right for the position. High 4 star talent per ISD. He clearly gets ND from the comments. Impressive rb commit overall. Seider is the man.

Definitely a bit faster "now" than Adams was while he was at ND and will only get faster. A whole season of Track will do wonders for his speed and agility, and seems to already be paying dividends.

I’m still curious/confused on how all of this moved so quickly. Prior to yesterday, I haven’t really seen his name mentioned on the IE boards that much and it didn’t seem like a guarantee he’d come back for an OV. Then he commits?

I guess crazy things happen when Seider is a great recruiter and the NIL department has their ducks in a row.
