We might as well snag another 5* OL so the team can field an OL to practice against this DL. I can't believe this is my life.

can the guy who has backed into the composite class calculator tell us what our composite will be with landing Parks?
302.43

He’s actually one of our lowest rated recruits at 92.36 (though still currently above Champ Monds and Segun Alexander).

I heard he’s delaying his commitment via smoke signal because of Canadian Wildfires interfering with air space.

You're 100% correct. Like at all positions there are elite NGs that were lowly ranked coming out of high school and developed in college. Graham is a good example. Some other recent guys that come to mind are Jordan Davis and Vita Vea.

There are also a bunch of guys that were ranked right in a similar range as Parks.
Looking at the 247 rankings there are very few true NGs ranked ahead of Parks. Of course it could be a down year for the position, but most of the guys ahead of him other have swing 3T-NG flexibility or are pure 3Ts.

Rarely are guys ranked as pure NG's. Most just fit into the "DL" category now, alot like most defensive ends / rush linebackers fall into the "edge" category. You have to really watch the film to see how the player projects.

That said, alot of teams running 40 fronts have gotten away from a true NG / DT tandem anyways. Just like a lot of modern 40 fronts have gotten away from a traditional SDE and WDE. Hell, a lot of teams just play left / right corners now, rather than field / boundary. As the game advances into a pass first era, there is an enormous emphasis on all members of a front 7 having pass rush capabilities and at least members of the defense having quality coverage skills as well. So many teams (Notre Dame included) are playing nickel as their base and bringing sub package rush DL onto the field as often as possible. Even dime sub packages seem as / more popular than ever.

Do we have to add waxing and waning moons for the total? Or do they cancel each other out?
Great question to which I have no answer. I would just stick to the sleeps timetable chart for up to the minute decision timeframes…

I do think ND will keep their eyes on a 5* LB throughout the season, Freeman never got a chance to close with Henderson.

Landing either or both of Parks & Fakatou is a big win for ND, sounds like patience (like JJ Jr.) will pay off with Parks.

I just hope this was ultimately his decision and he didn’t get pushed/forced into picking Notre Dame
If he does choose ND it's always gonna be at the back of my mind that this was just a dog and pony show and he was always gonna go to ND. If he would've committed 6 months ago he would've got a lot less money. I don't blame these kids for getting as much money as they can. That might be what recruiting becomes. Play your cards right and get paid as much as you can while playing it close to the vest. Or he'll pick Oregon and everything I said will still be kind of true except he got more money and picked Oregon instead

I think the "news" that his heart is with Oregon and his family is with Notre Dame is exaggerated. If he picks ND, it was his choice. Don't believe everything you hear on the internet where the purpose is to generated clicks.

Same. If he didn’t want to go to Notre Dame he wouldn’t and won’t. It’s not a zero sum game. He “might” like Oregon more but it’s apparent he likes ND at the very least a lot and would have zero problem playing for ND, that’s worse case scenario. He might like ND more and is just letting the process play out.
