Pretty cool that he’s holding the trophy that his brother actually won while at Notre dame. I would think that would hold some weight for him, but I’ve given up predicting where 17-18 year olds will sign

Excerpts from an article in The Athletic...

Owusu-Boateng said Texas A&M, Texas, Oregon, Florida and Florida State are the schools he’s built the best relationships with so far. He’d like to get to Texas A&M, Georgia and Alabama this spring and has official visits set for South Carolina and Stanford.

“I’m just looking for a school that will set me up not just for football, but for life after football,” he said. “Why should I only go to a school that just wants national championships? I need that academic program as well that will lead me throughout my life.”

Owusu-Boateng, the younger brother of former Notre Dame star Jeremiah Owusu-Boateng, said he wants to study business, finance and agriculture, and he would like to be an entrepreneur. He said early playing time will be an important factor in his decision, too.

Exactly. The article was slanted into a discussion on how a majority of the IMG athletes are leaning towards the P2 conferences so there may have been things purposely left out in regards to ND, but not even a mention? With those quotes? Wowza...

His Stanford interest is legitimate, too. He has an OV scheduled to Palo Alto June 6.

Does Stanford still make sure you can clear admissions prior to offering a scholarship , or did that go away when Shaw left?

Regarding visits and his timeline:

“There will be no rush. I will probably add two more official visits for the summer, take a few during the season, then make a decision closer to Signing Day in December.”

Thought I had heard the staff was strategizing a fall visit during a big home game weekend, knowing this one was likely going the distance.

Wonder if they read the situation where one of the other contenders had jumped ahead and figured they needed to get him back on campus this summer...

Regardless, I think the Irish need him on campus twice to have a real shot.
