Agree that NIL is making the job tougher on a guy like Freeman who has natural charisma. I think they figure it out though. At this point Freeman is also not recruiting at a championship level (though is developing at a championship level) — but, he’s got the right formula imo. The profile of his classes is very similar to Kelly-era classes — a lot of really solid players, a couple of elite guys, and 6-8 developmental athletes.Kelly was all over the board at nd for recruiting. They would go a couple of years without recruiting positions well and you would end with voids at key positions like wr, db and rb. For most of his tenure those positions were nowhere near championship quality. That doesn’t even mention qb recruiting and development.
Freeman classes seem to be way more athletic and the top end talent I think is better. Dallas golden just doesn’t commit to the Kelly era teams. If it wasn’t for the nil era, I think freeman would be doing even better than he currently is. I agree that freeman has more of a vision as to what the team needs
Also, big deal on Kelly classes being better at lsu. That place recruits itself
Except Kelly would leave obvious holes in different positions. Rankings don’t take into account depth.Agree that NIL is making the job tougher on a guy like Freeman who has natural charisma. We aren’t getting 3 or 4 top 50 guys and on or two of them 5 stars. Yes, Freeman and staff are doing a great job in different areas. We’ll see after this season. This should be the best season he has. When we make the playoffs and make some noise on the big stage if that doesn’t help than nothing will.
I’d move Bettis to safety and Him to WR.With 6 DBs, is there enough to start him at WR?
Our fans like to say, don't rob Peter to pay Paul. But that doesn't necessarily apply if you are have more bodies than PT at the other position.
Cam Hart and Xavier Watts are two clear examples of successful flips.
Christian mentioned on their signing day pod yesterday that he's asked ND multiple times about Golden playing WR and he's been told no every time. Said they think he has first round potential at CB.
Convinced MM is a top 5 evaluator and developer of DB talent in the sport at any level.
I mean Al was coaching in Florida…. Wait till he finds out about his ElijahSorry if this has been answered but is he Al's son?
