They compared Bodie to Bertrand very early on in his recruitment and I think it's a great comparison. Bertrand plays faster than he may run and Bodie plays very fast on film. The difference being Bodie is bigger. Which could make a difference. But, if the floor of the room are bigger versions of Kiser and Bertrand. While the ceiling are Sneed, KVA, etc. That is an extremely good spot to be.

This really is the spot ND needs to be in. Yes... we no doubt need a few more 5 star types here and there, but if we can consistently recruit everywhere with the mentality of, "We have a couple 5 star types, and we have some guys that have high floors" sprinkle in a little luck with development and a little luck with how the playoffs pan out... reaching the promised land is not off the table.

Jack Kiser Jr
Disagree.

He already looks comfortably sifting through the box in his junior film (his first year playing LB). I think this kid will look like a tremendous Mike/Will candidate by the end of the year. (Though I already think he does.)

Having coached against Kiser, I knew he was smart and very athletic, but he had never played in the box which was my only concern.

25? Man amongst boys or just bad competition?
Generally, and this is a very amateur look-in, but their competition has generally been pretty good.

It's not amazing, but Roanoke plays in 5A Virginia, so there's a good number of quality teams. But their last opponent was 1-4, so I think that instance was pretty bad competition, but still 25 tackles is very impressive.

And this is his first full season playing LB, maybe the staff was on point with their evaluation of Bodie early on. Surely hope he continues to play lights out!

20 tackles in his last game. 146 in total for the season in only 8 games....

Out of all the commits, I'm really curious to see his film. Patrick Henry plays class 5A football in the state, which is the second highest in Virginia. Not all of their opponents are cream puffs, as Salem, Christianburg & Blacksburg are good programs. But, as gawdy and impressive his stats are, I wonder if it's a case of him just simply being the best athlete on the field in most of these games and just dominating because of his size and speed.

I mean, shouldn't that be a good thing?

I assume you mean to say does he show good linebacker traits or is he just physically dominant. I think it will be a combination of both. I really thought he had pretty good film for a kid who just started playing linebacker last year.

Sinclair is constantly raving about him in his Friday night round ups. Worth remembering that he was an OSU Lax commit so him being underrated could largely be attributed to skipping the camp circuit.

I may be wrong, but I also thought that this is his first year as a full time linebacker. Didn't he play safety last year, at least part of the time?

It could be a "best athlete on the field" thing, but you at least want to see someone dominate in those situations. It seems like he's doing that, for whatever it's worth.

They better be the best athlete on the field in most cases. Lbs that are going to be elite in college should dominate high school but have a lot of upside to grow and improve. All time tackles leader in NC went to wake recently and did minimal there because he peaked or close to peaked in high school

I’d like to see more kahoun film from this year, concerned with his agility but he loves to tackle

That's why you want more Prince Kollies and less J.D. Bertrands...

You are correct……so I would take it as a good sign if he‘s lighting it up in his first full season as a LB.

I'm all for getting him in and seeing what he can do based on production like that.

Or more Wu's, Manti's, Coney's. Guys that dominated. Not easy to find, and JD is a solid LB, but he's far from dominating, you know when you recruited him he wouldn't or couldn't physically be that.

In regards to competition level, you want him to be dominating. I'd be more concerned if he wasn't, which doesn't look to be the case.

Wu was an 88 3 Star and not in the top 400 nationally. Wasn’t highly recruited.
Coney was an 89 and outside the top 300.

Neither dominated in HS.

It doesn’t matter what Kahoun does, you have never seen him play but will still complain about him.

Never complained about kahoun at all, said I’d like to see more film to better assess

Wu and coney absolutely dominated. Wu was a project to figure out a position but one with high potential

Patrick Henry lost in the playoffs on Friday. Going into the game, Bodie had 177 tackles. He was averaging nearly 18 tackles per game. Wouldn't be surprised if he finished up with over 190 tackles. In 11 games.

Really really can't wait to see his film.

That has to be stat padding, right? Has anyone seen him play?

From Ryan Roberts:

Coming from the DC at Patrick Henry....In 11 games, Kahoun collected 203 total tackles (127 solo, 76 assists), 27 tackles for loss, nine sacks, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

Those are some crazy stats…….back in October I did get to see him play when I visited my cousin who lives right outside Roanoke and Bodie was ALL over the field. He can really cover some ground.

He’s a big kid that can run. Excited to see him on the field. I think Golden and Lea are kindred spirits in that they will find things where nobody is looking. I think Golden has really found some prospects in this class.
