An Ohio State LAX commit that is going to play football first.

Gonna be ND unless OSU gets involved and it still may be ND if they do. His family does have deep roots in Central Ohio.

He is also originally from Northern Indiana.

"After listening to the coaches and the players, I think I’d be a good fit for the linebacker room,” he said. "I also believe I would be a good overall fit for the program both on and off the field.”

Roberts believes that Bodie is more than likely to push up his previous timeline for a decision. ND is pushing hard for him, as well.

"I’m working on the timeline now,” said Kahoun. "My family and I are still figuring all of that out.”

This one is interesting. Where is he on the pecking order with Cole and Viliamu Asa? And what about Cole Sullivan

I believe he is above Cole Sullivan?
He would be after Viliamu-Asa & Chris Cole, but would take all three. So if Kahoun wanted to commit, he could. And so could Chris Cole. Then ND would wait as long as needed for Viliamu-Asa.

That's fair Reaper. I could see a take two from that group scenario as well. Especially with a couple safety targets that could end up at rover in Andrews and Urlacher.
I'd imagine the staff is taking into consideration who commits at safety impacting #'s at linebacker.

This is wired.. why not wait on Chris Cole? Are we taking four this class. If not then this is not okay.

Why are we questioning it more? His offer list is a lot more impressive
Low bar to jump over there. It is not that impressive of an offer list by any measure, but improvement over Rezac.

Hit and Hustle talked in depth about LB recruiting on a recent podcast. I think everyone should give it a listen.

Can you summarize

Staff seems to be targeting guys who fit an athletic and size profile, ie Length + Speed. KVA is in a tier of his own and is a take regardless. Rezac and Kahoun are very athletic. Kahoun is very raw and perhaps will be more of a project, but he hits on the athletic side of the profile. They think Urlacher grows into a LB as well. Jamie U and Greg feel they recruited LB so well the last two classes, that evaluating and bringing in guys like Rezc, Kahoun, Cole, House, etc might make sense when trying to find great athletes who can develop into good linebackers....guys who fit certain roles within ND's defense specifically is important to note.

I'm sure I missed some stuff, but that was my take away.

Some of the freak outs on other sites are epic right now.

I think people need to realize two facts:

1) ND probably isn’t getting Chris Cole, so saying ND is in a good spot with him probably isn’t true. And ND doesn’t lead for KVA. OSU probably does.

2) Recruiting under Freeman isn’t going to be some magical difference from BK.
BK’s recruiting was a 7. Freeman’s is an 8. BK’s coaching was an 8.5 to 9. Freeman’s is a 7. Things aren’t magically getting better.

He's a bit of a project and plays against poor competition. The athletic profile is there though.
