Shhhh…. It’s about to go down, gentlemen. A couple more months.

CJ is going to be slapping dudes around here soon. Proof will be in the pudding.

This is why Carr is regularly underrated.

Dude isn't going to wow you with his physical traits. He doesn't run like Arch and he doesn't have a howitzer for an arm.

But there is virtually ZERO wasted movement. Carr is the Greg Maddux of college QBs. He is laser-accurate and his touch is impeccable.

Carr was a Top 100 recruit, RS FR starter at the University of Notre Dame where he was constantly praised throughout the season by the media, is a Heisman favorite, mocked in the 1st round as a JR, with those leaving him off expecting to mock him in the 1st round as a SR.

The junior Manning may turn out to be great, I guess, but I haven't seen it in any consistent form yet. Until that happens, my cynical mind will think: is this not a lot of entitlement hype? ... nothing against the young man (though hasn't he had an occasional hissy fit in the past?)

If his name was Archie Brown, he would not be considered a top flight draft prospect. He has awful throwing mechanics and poor footwork. He is tough and can run, but there's really not much else that he has demonstrated at Texas that would point to being a future great.

He wouldn’t have been a 5* either. His film was fine against terrible competition.

Had the film of a perfectly average four-star QB, and that was only because of plus athleticism and potential.

Was a 5-star because of name. Mayyyyybe some guys thought the potential that he would be a football genius like his uncles was worth the extra star.

Arch definitely had an absolutely brutal start of the season last year but he did finish much better. I’m intrigued to see how he performs this year.
I never really understood people hyping up Arch's resurgence. Was he better in the latter half of the year? Yeah. But he went from abysmal QB play to just average QB play.

Dude still is a great athlete, so he's going to do damage with his legs, but even in the back half, his arm is ALL over the damn place. He'd have a good throw and follow it up with one of the ugliest throws you've ever seen. Too much of that, even in the games against Michigan and A&M.

That's just like your opinion... man.

edit - Seriously though, what a shit eval from Charles Powers. They even had the audacity to defend it even after it was clearly bad. Have Powers and/or Singer (for being a company man about it) had a mea culpa of any kind?

Here’s an interview from the Manning camp…

Love that the first question from the reporter was "what did you learn last year..." and CJ responded with "We learned..."

All about the team. Didn't talk about himself until the reporter repeated the question again.

This is where I'm at on him. As a passer, he just doesn't impress me at all. And his performance in big moments was just plain bad. Nice TD celebration against Sam Houston though :ROFLMAO:

Yeah he's fine which is pretty good all things considered. Hes under a ton of pressure. Would be difficult to deal with.
