As much smoke as there seems to be about him reclassifying makes me think it's gonna happen. Wrap this up and move to '24 and '25
Quinn Ewers announced he was skipping his senior year last year in late July or early August. For those that follow recruiting, outside of ND.
When do QBs (or other positions) typically "officially" reclassify / get their class changed in the recruiting weekend. I'm all for Carr in 23, but I hope this something that can be "official" by the fall?
FWIW, IB was saying that if Carr reclassifies then they don't think Sayin will wind up at ND.Looking forward to a "reclassify" announcement with Carr. Put all this to rest and redshirt this season. Will clear up our 2024 QB plan to pursue Sayin (or whoever else) and officially move on from the other QB in the 23' class from that state up north.![]()
FWIW. you said that IB said that Carr will not be reclassifying so why is Coach D worried about it?FWIW, IB was saying that if Carr reclassifies then they don't think Sayin will wind up at ND.
They're still on high on Moore to ND and the odds of both of those guys in the '23 class are effectively zero. So I'm not sure whether to interpret this as unlikely because Carr won't be able to vs. unlikely because Carr will only try if ND doesn't get Moore.Ryan really seemed to be shooting down the chances of a re-classify
Yeah they are doing a pretty good job. Ryan Roberts regularly talks to recruits and has interviewed multiple recruits and parents of recruits. The one with Adon Shuler's father was terrific. Mr. Shuler is one heck of a recruiter and he loves ND.It seems like some of Driskell's recent hires are actually putting in the work to develop relationships with recruits,
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if that's the number. There is a thread over on the UM on3 site where a poster claimed that CJ was offered 2 mil to come to ND. Its four pages long of bad-mouthing the Carr family to the point where another poster started another thread saying they talked to CJ's mom about the post and how it is completely false. Even EJ was dumping on the family and how they were bitter that UM was prioritizing Dante over CJ. You won't find a worse fanbase/beat in the country.
IF ND was giving out that kind of money, they wouldn't get another 4/5 star from that state ever again. There is a thread over on the UM on3 site where a poster claimed that CJ was offered 2 mil to come to ND. The thing that doesn’t compute is that IF we dropped 2mil for CJ—why would we not also have dropped the same amount for Dante??IF ND was giving out that kind of money, they wouldn't get another 4/5 star from that state ever again.
I HOPE that they're right. Lol
Acting like ND is A&M wow lol
That's some glass half empty nostalgia there. It's all speculation until a kid signs and then it's not 100% (Vanderdoesn't). 😉
That likely wasn't good enough for Otha, I mean Dante. The thing that doesn’t compute is that IF we dropped 2mil for CJ—why would we not also have dropped the same amount for Dante??
I agree 100% with this. Most of the circumstantial evidence indicates that we're not "dropping" any amount, because ND has been steadfast in its interpretation of the NIL rules that paying kids to commit is illegal and the programs doing it will eventually get sanctioned. If the $2 million figure is accurate, that's probably a proposal from FUND based on projections of what his NIL would be worth once committed to ND, and that he can count on receiving something like that as an Irish player.
There's a big difference between "FUND says your NIL is worth X, which you'll receive over 4 years once you sign with us" vs. "Here's a check for $2 million, so now you're contractually obligated to attend ND."

I've got to think it will help us on the back end too, with guys who are thinking of going to the draft but can now get (probably pretty-well) paid while they play a fourth year at Notre Dame and finish their degree. Seemed to be a factor with Foskey coming back this year, no?Kind of wild that NIL might just be trending as pretty ND-friendly when you consider the way Freeman and co. can [and likely are] modifying the "4 for 40" ROI pitch. It would have been easy to think ND is behind the times, or would let everyone run laps around them.
But not only is that advantageous ND degree ROI still available... but now you've got a vast network of people that have already taken advantage that degree, as well as one of the most expansive and diverse fanbases full of non-alumni, willing to legally support your NIL efforts WHILE you are playing football. Make money in school due to all of the advantages that were present before... and still fall back on one of the most valuable degrees you can get while playing championship-level college football. Kyle Hamilton has already provided a decent model for Freeman and his staff to point towards, but any amount of success this year for individual players will really help things take off.
Everyone got thrown into the deep-end in terms of figuring out how to navigate the NIL landscape, and some places like Bama have adapted well already, but at least we know that ND is uniquely positioned to transform their existing recruiting pitches to the current climate, in a perfectly legal way, and in a way that will be player-friendly.
ND is very sophisticated when it comes to fund-raising, and no school takes better care of its alumni than we do. Whenever we seem to be "behind the times," it's usually because we're self-sanctioning or have an ethical reservation about a practice everyone else is blithely engaged in.Kind of wild that NIL might just be trending as pretty ND-friendly when you consider the way Freeman and co. can [and likely are] modifying the "4 for 40" ROI pitch. Probably got deleted because they were apt to get sued if they kept content like that up on their site. Section 230 offers a lot of protection, but I remember with PJ Fleck years ago some people got sued over "libelous" stuff they posted about him. There is a thread over on the UM on3 site where a poster claimed that CJ was offered 2 mil to come to ND. EDIT: Looks like both threads were deleted, in case anyone went over to read for themselves.
I believe so. IB said on one of their Youtube shows that CJ meshed well with the '23 recruits. Richard Young even followed him on social media.Anyone know if CJ is recruiting'23 guys?
