Again, this is why you keep recruiting all of them. If Thomas isn’t a hit or transfers, are we converting another linebacker to edge?
I’m just surprised we pass on guys (or maybe this is the beat just spinning it positively) when Freeman has said from Day 1 they are going to continually challenge/build the roster. It always works itself out anyway.

Driskell is usually “rah, rah, Marcus Freeman & ND,” but he is telling people to forget about Rushing.
He did say it wasn’t anything ND did wrong, just that Rushing didn’t mesh with any other players & didn’t want to be there.
Williams and Rushing weren’t the same thing.
Loghan Thomas was the one who took Williams’ spot.
Rushing fell in the “take no matter what” category.
Like now with Lambert. ND needed 3 OL & a true OT. When they got Prescod they did that. They aren’t going to recruit any other OL, just Lambert because he falls into the “take no matter what” category.
M. Williams doesn’t fall into that category & was a very, very long shot anyways.

Because they didn’t need Williams. You take Rushing because he’s a five-star talent, but you already have another Williams in the class.

Wiltfong and Angulo on 247 have said for the last few months they like where we sit with Rushing and could possibly be the favorite. Kind of bizarre that it looks like everything flipped after one visit?

But IB says they talked to multiple sources & they all said it didn’t go well.
It takes a lot for Driskell to say anything negative about ND recently.

Edit: someone asked Driskell about Wiltfong’s report & he replied that kids always say those things after an OV, that you have to get the real story. And there were no positive vibes from the staff or commits.

I don’t want to be that guy, but I don’t think ND gets KVA either (goes to OSU) or Nelson (goes to UGA).

I can tell you guys this... Two industry guys from here in AZ really love where ND is and one guy is totally dialed in on the streets.
If this is as bad as IB's saying (or what we're hearing he said) then it would be only topped by the guys who flipped Pete Werner to Ohio State.
The smart money was always on the field so it's a good one to claim your sources are telling you it's over.
And I want to add... I 99% believe the program would skip over IB for controlled leaks. 247 gets them because they can trust Wiltfong/Loy to write professional puff pieces... that's good branding.
I try to like IB, but it's overload gobbledygook dressed as sourced fact... and then Singer cites it.

I agree, unfortunately. Some people thought the number for this class could be 25-26 but I'm thinking 22-23.

Driskell is often full of shit but I'm thinking his reporting is better than the others here. Interviewing the recruit is rarely of value these days. They almost always say the visit went well.
Is should be way higher than that closer to 30-32
