I could see him filling out pretty easy. Part of it depends on the kids demeanor too. Does he have the nastiness of an LB??

He's 6'4 already 212 kinda heavy for a safety. You don't see many safetys that are 6'4
Let's start with an easy one - Kyle Hamilton, you've heard of him right? Have you heard of Nick Emmanwori? Check him out. How about Caleb Downs, he's 205. The NFL data is public information, and you can see that there are plenty of safetys who carry around ~210.

Why would he or anyone with access to the football facility change his position after being at safety for two years, and having two safeties leave the program after the 2024 season. It would be an absolute failure to Luke Talich to develop him at safety only to have him sit behind kids in his class and stud freshman pass him.

Especially not when you need safety help and dude can run like he does. Showing out on specials often leads to starting as an upperclassmen.

I thought he looked slow as shit on his int return for a td against FSU. Thought it was a walk on.

Not sure if he’s a starter at safety but he’s going to be on every coverage team. Probably what Kizer is now as far as special teams go, the main man.

Still think Talich will start and Stroman will be in the Rod Heard role.

Will circle back to this thread in September.

I agree there’s a chance. Stroman vs the Field (Talich, Blair, Logan, Johnson, Urlacher) isn’t set in stone IMO

Does help Stroman to be here for Spring though

I don't think that'll be the case but I hope he proves me wrong. Talich lacks the speed needed to hold down a safety spot. I think he could be a special team ace but I expect Stroman, Smith, Shuler and Urlacher to be fighting for reps. The hard thing for all of us to determine is how rangy Urlacher, Stroman and Shuler are. I know Smith, Shuler and Urlacher will absolutely come downhill with bad intentions.

Stroman and Smith have a lot of experience. Can Tae emerge as a sophomore like Shuler did this year? It's such a luxury to have healthy competition while remembering the days where anyone on the roster was auto 2-deep.

I had this thought but then also considered Mickens probably will churn out a couple NFL safeties from the group Stroman is competing against
You are not wrong here at all. Mickens has been great at not only identifying talent but developing them quickly.

Johnson should be in the 2 deep if he isn’t starting next season.

If the speed is there it's up to the strength and conditioning staff to get it to translate to the field. He's still young there's time
