I'm sure there are multiple ways of looking at this. Kelly is a true CEO of his football program. How often do you get chatty with your CEO? I'm not saying it's the right way, but it certainly was Kelly's way. It worked for him but I'm definitely on board with Freeman's approach. He's the type of leader that truly inspires young men. I'd take that type of leader all day over a prototypical CEO.

How is it he actually ended up at ND?
Does he go on to say the vibe is completely different under Freeman?
Makes it sound like BK was Darth Vader.

Lake Stevens 63, Federal Way 21

Jayden Limar ran wild for Lake Stevens (2-1), rushing for four touchdowns as the Vikings led 42-7 at halftime after Federal Way scored the game’s first TD. Limar finished with 202 yards rushing on 23 carries.

All his likes are ND related if you care about that.

Always thought it’d be tough to hold onto 3 four star RBs.

I don't really see the need for 3 running backs this cycle. Unless the staff knows about some early departures in the off-season, we'll have:

Tyree, Estime, Diggs, Price, Payne, Limar, Edwards, 3rd 2023 RB

That is a lot of bodies, and I didn't even mention walk-ons. Someone would almost certainly transfer from that group right? My guess would be Payne and/or maybe Diggs when Price leap frogs damn near everyone.

Can’t run the wing-T if you don’t have enough backfield assets.

I think Edwards is a slot moving forward.

So right now you have to get 2 between Limar, Love and Jones.

Funny how in previous years "that's a lot of bodies" can suddenly turn into "they're so thin at _____ now. How'd that happen?"

something else to consider: Price's recovery.
No doubt. Price's recovery is huge, he was possibly going to be our starter as a true freshman. Payne has had injuries throughout his career so we'll see on him. The coaches are recruiting the best talent they can find. Transfers will happen but I'd rather it be players who can't earn snaps whether it's a veteran or a youngin.

We all know the skill talent isn't where we need it to win a championship, I love the coaches are trying to remedy that as quickly as possible. And I love a stable of running backs competing for snaps rather than winning the job by virtue of last-man-standing which is kind of what we have going on this year.

(And I love Tyree, Diggs and Estime but at least one of them would have far fewer snaps if JD Price didn't get injured)

Diggs would be the most likely one.

I see Tyree going to the NFL after this season. Even if he doesn't get drafted, NFL teams will keep him on the roster just for his 4.4 speed.

maybe only two because i've heard it said more than once on podcasts that Edwards will probably play more slot and do kick returns because of him being possibly too small for fulltime RB duties

Yeah, I think Edwards will likely train as a WR because he is the ideal slot who can also take sweeps and the occasional handoff/pitch. He'll also take kickoff and punt duties almost immediately.

ND needs to catch up with the WR position- thanks Del! Would any of our RB's be a good switch at WR?

Update from Singer.

So, his recruitment is taking the same route of Peyton Bowen's - albeit, with perhaps less valid concern about a possible flip. Limar says that the visits to Washington, Arizona and an upcoming visit to Oregon, have more to do with his brother than his own interest or status of his commitment. Jayden's brother, Jayshon, is a 2025 class recruit that currently backs-up Jayden at Lake Stevens HS.

Jayden says he communicates to the staff the reason for his unofficials, and that they respect it. He does say he is solid to ND, barring only "...unless they show me I shouldn’t be."

He is aiming to try to be at the Clemson game, but may face difficulties with his schedule.

Important note: He is being sold by the staff as the one "true" running back for this class. The staff are telling him that Love and Edwards are being brought in as offensive athletes.

Something interesting to note as well, is that communication between him and ND hasn't stopped since his commitment. The only difference being that Freeman was mainly recruiting him before he committed, now it's more McCullough & Bowden.
