When do we turn this into a food thread?

We've already got a dedicated food thread, we don't need another.

Technically my ass. You really think Alabama, Oregon, A&M, Texas, Tennessee, Florida, etc are all going to be punished? Of course not. ND admin needs to get off their high horse and realize without football they’re a no name religious school in fucking Indiana.

That is precisely why I said ND is at a fork in the road.

At this point, I'm just waiting on something substantial before I start to care. Let's get a report that he is either sticking or decommitting, whether that is today, tomorrow, next week or on ESD. It's been months of the same endless speculation that hasn't changed anything about how Peyton stands with his recruitment - he is committed until he is not.

If anything, the staff can learn from this. I know they dont want to repeat the same thing next class with any other high profile recruit. Take a commitment from a player that is certain enough not to visit multiple schools over multiple visits dating a full calendar year. I know it's normal for recruits to do so, even if they are happy with their commitment, but this Peyton Bowen saga has been too much, and I'm sure the staff would agree.

Name names man. Who was saying that it wasn't concerning?

BD, Ryan Roberts, Singer. I don't pay for 247 or ISD, but probably their guys too. All is well has been the line for his entire recruitment, which is weird because he's going to OU.

Does anyone want to know my personal feelings without any added information?

I think people have to take a step back and relax. Do you really think that ND would not be punished if they followed everyone else with the P2P schemes? I am really surprised (actually not) that the NCAA has not taken a closer look. I am opposed to P2P because it sets a terrible standard, and ND has always stood for excellence in athletics, academics and its students.

I hope this ends today. The fact that he is going to have a conversation with Freeman is all we need to know here. Go away - let's move on.

Well BD and Ryan Roberts have not said anything in the past 24 hours both the intel pieces on their boards on Bowen are from last week. They both have been radio silent this morning.

Has anyone besides Loy say anything today?

Singer posted a "we'll see" over on the on3 boards.

I wish Fong would just say what the truth is. He has stayed out of it probably because II and OU Insider are both giant sites, whereas the 247 A&M site is second fiddle to TexAgs for example so he would bring juice on the Love recruitment. No reason to break up the click parade for two sites.

Personally I think this is going to be a risk with every elite recruit who commits fairly early in the process, before they've really looked around a ton. There's so much hype around recruiting now, so much attention. Kids want to enjoy the process and/or think through their options. And can you blame them? It's the biggest decision of their life, and now one that has the potential to change their family's fortunes before they even put on a helmet in college.

You can say "if you're looking, we're looking," or "No OVs if you're committed," but at a certain point that stuff is just shooting yourself in the foot. I suspect that's what happened with Keeley. He wanted to take his OVs and that was that. And of course if schools now are paying for kids to take unofficials, what's the difference anyway?

But unless we're going to stop taking early commits (which carries risks of its own) we don't have a lot of cards to play here, aside from keeping in close contact with these guys, reminding them why they committed to Notre Dame, building a culture where the recruits recruit each other. And, the biggest thing, stop being so holier-than-thou about NIL. FFS.

The problem is that there isn't anything to learn from.

ND has loaded up on DB with Shuler and Minich already committed and looking to add Hillman and Barnes on top of that. But nothing can overcome losing Bowen.

The staff has done everything in their power to keep Bowen in the class, which makes this all the more frustrating should he decide to jump ship.

This staff more than deserves a good ending to this recruitment. They've earned that much.

I thought IB thought hints about someone about to decommit before they announce it is unprofessional?

If he flips, sorry for him and his family. Would be a short sighted decision. But ND would survive and the sun would still rise tomorrow.
You aren't flipping out about this. Some members might thumbs down your post for being rational and not acting like the sky is falling and this is the worst thing since HIV.

The staff should have told him two weeks ago on his visit you are either with us or you aren't. If you are no more visits
