Also, I know it’s against the law to question Freeman, but when are we allowed to raise legitimate concerns because I have some?
I’m not sold on him like everyone else I guess?

Singer saying that Rhett has high interest in Georgia. Potential flip.
Just to separate one versus the other. Singer said the first sentence but not the second in case interpreted otherwise.

Singer says it’s an OV.
This will be interesting to hear. I assume the “only OV is ND” thing was meant to draw some sort of line in the sand. Loy said it’s a unofficial this AM so it’d be interested if he clarifies tonight.

After coaching a full season would be a good place to start lmao

Really?
So can’t have concerns before that?
So people couldn’t have concerns about Mike Price, who got fired at Bama before ever coaching a game, until after he coached a full season? LOL

As far as Freeman, can’t be concerned about a really, really bad job of adjusting in the Bowl Game with a 21 point lead and the more talented team?
Or that half the committed class has already or is visiting elsewhere after committing? Freeman was supposed to be the dude who flipped commits, not get his flipped.

Yes, it’s perfectly normal to have concerns. That’s what most fans with balanced perspectives express proportionally. However, cynicism is often the default if you’ve been a fan of Notre Dame since they won their last title. And cynicism has been dragged out for a long ass time. Yes, he didn’t win the bowl game and he will have to improve on those adjustments. But he did a respectable job for a first-time head coach in a game that presented challenges. So, it’s comes off as less concern, and more cynical to drag out one performance given the circumstances.
So it’s cynical to point out an obvious concern that every analyst that covers ND had?
I’m not cynical towards ND at all. I’m the one who, still now, says BK is a lot better coach than people give him credit for on here. He got a lot more flak for nothing than I’m giving Freeman.
I’m just not going to be all rainbows & unicorns about him like most. The bottom line is winning games. That’s how I judge success in sports.

ND played that bowl game without it's best player on offense and it's best player on defense. Prospects taking visits has always happened with ND recruits, and will only continue to happen, so I'd say it's probably a good idea to get used to it. Also, if they sign with ND on NSD, who cares whether they visit elsewhere or not?

What half the commits are visiting? I count Keeley, Peyton Bowen, Rhett. That’s one-third, yes, but not half. It’s also the way the game gets played when you’re fishing in these waters (top 100 recruits), which Kelly rarely did in recent years. You can not upgrade the talent if you’re not battling Bama and Georgia for recruits. And you won’t win them all.

I actually agree with you that BK was better than people give him credit for these days. And that what matters is winning football games, not recruiting. And that none of these kids will win football games for Notre Dame in 2022 (and not really 2023 either). Time will tell if Freeman can produce the results. But right now the battle is recruiting and he’s fighting it a lot harder than Kelly typically did. That’s a good thing.

Is it though?

Like honestly I don't follow other schools recruiting enough to know if 1/3 of their current committed classes are taking visits.

Is this happening at Bama, OSU, UGA?

I think there are 2 ways this question could be asked. Has it been normal? or Will it be normal this year and in the short term future?

We don't know the answer to the second because we haven't lived in the NIL world for a full cycle. We'll see how that changes things.

Or they are just two different questions. I'd like the answer to both.

Loy confirmed from his dad that it’s an OV to UGA. So much for that narrative, lol.

At the end of the day, only thing that matters is where he signs. Here's hoping it's with ND.

This happens all the time with the big boys. Bama commits visit Georgia, Georgia commits visit Bama. The fights we need to be in. Best hope is he takes care of this by the fall so the staff knows what they need to do at the CB position. If he doesn't visit USC, I will feel better

Put me in the was wrong and now most skeptical of Rhett bucket. Possibly cancelling the Spring Game visit is concerning. At least Keeley and Bowen (at the moment) haven’t indicated cancelling visits to Notre Dame ever

TBF, he still does have an official on the books for just 5 weeks after that. Vegas to South Bend isn't the quickest journey.

If you are going to have a series built around your recruitment, it probably helps to generate recruiting content.

Well that sucks. Kinda figured someone was gonna decommit at some point, thankfully we have time to get on some other CBs now. Makes closing on Gray and landing Tease all that much more important.

Watch what they do. Don't listen to what they say. And do not get excited about verbals months before signing day.

Singer said the staff has assumed him uncommitted for a few weeks

So I guess some sort of line in the sand does exist, it’s the OVs. Buckle up for Keon and Peyton (who did recently say he’d not take ‘em if freeman didn’t want him to)
