This year Love has proven the ability to grind out the tough yards and "move the pile" more than I could've ever imagined. I had the impression that he was more of a finesse runner and speed guy. His TD run on Thursday with a bum knee was shocking.
Every time he fights for the tough yards, I remember him moving the pile against OSU last year

Um
Tim Prister just said on today's II pd that Jeremiyah is the greatest running back in the history of Notre Dame....
This isn't hyperbolic Bryan Driskell talking either.
I love this kid so so much.
Just finished the pod & it took me by surprise too. High praise from someone following the program as long as Prister. He & O’Malley clarified that they meant his overall ability at RB…not his numbers.

Pretty sure Prister questioned his toughness coming out of hs. Love has really impressed me with how tough he is

I think with Love and Tyree and home run speed in the college game you can scheme them, especially with NDs o-line and a mobile QB, into homerun plays. It’d again comp Love to Etienne. We saw Etienne hit that home run against us in the ACC championship. But the hole was there in part due to Trevor’s run threat. Without the QB run threat we bottled him up. If Love can add a between the tackles component to his game he’s probably a legit 5 star RB. Without it, he can still be a huge weapon though with a power RB or dual threat QB compliment needed.

Tyree with Buchner should be night and day then with Coan.

🎯🎯🎯

Well at least on Love. A total whiff on Tyree

Love is better than I ever thought he could be because he basically has become every “if”. He was not a natural RB at all on his HS Junior film. Better senior year. Glimpses as a freshman. His between the tackles ability this season is remarkable development by DMC.

I would really put them up there as one of my favorites as well. 2005 squad when I was in college was a joy to watch offensively with Quinn, Walker, Stovall, Shark, Fasano.
Don't forget one of my faves from that squad - Jeff Samardzija!

You’re not alone. Pretty much everyone thought he was strictly a speed guy. If I had a comp, it would probably be Vagas Ferguson, but Love is a little more agile and faster.

He’s going to have a monster year next year. Given his determination, I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a monster game against OSU and carries us to a Natty.

Ok. Rate J Loves run compares to your favorite NDs plays. For me. This was comparable to the NDs goal line stance on Stanford.

Chris Brown catching that bomb against Oklahoma. Felt like a heavyweight answer in a heavyweight fight where ND was finally the bully.

(That, or literally any routine Theo Riddick run. Footwork was so insane that he made the craziest hidden yardage look like business as usual. Criminally under appreciated during his time.)

This and the Stanford stand are the Kelly highlights for sure. I don't remember feeling like a bully though, more like hanging on for dear life into the fourth. But I am also an enormous pussy, so.

In terms of talent I don't think there are too many at his level in the program's history.
Jaylon Smith and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah are on that list for recent history.

In terms of RBs, while he's the most athletic RB I've ever seen at ND, Kyren Williams was and is an absolute stud. I think the 2025 OL is going to be nasty and Love may have the 1500+ yard season he deserves.
