The IB crew said on their mailbag today that Dante just wants to make sure that he's making the right decision by taking his visits. He's not the type of kid who will commit somewhere and then keep going on visits.

I mean his dad literally said he's considering doing exactly that, so I'm not sure I buy into this.

The Gug feeling good or being confident is the new kiss of death.

My favorite was when it was so clearly obvious that CJ Williams and Amorion Walker weren't going to Notre Dame, and they just made the decision to not replace them in the class. I thought it was just a Del Alexander issue, but maybe it is more than that.

The problem with this theory is that the guy who was running the whole enterprise inside the Gug is no longer inside the Gug.

i don't understand how the sources inside the Gug all feel good when every action Moore is doing is screaming indecision/angling. Did they all feel good when they did the same thing to get Will Shipley and lost out?

Again, this isn't the same staff.

And not to defend the previous staff too much, but it was very evident that the pandemic played a huge role in Shipley's recruitment going against us. Hard to win a recruiting battle against a local power when you can't get the kid on campus for a crucial visit.

Not the same situation at all. Proximity to home is in our favor, there's no pandemic and we have a staff that actually recruits 24/7 like you need to.

I don't remember a recruits thread like Moore's getting so much attention, the closest that I can remember was Aaron Lynch's. How many were around for that?

I think this board will be more shocked if Moore commits to ND, than if he doesn't. If his recruitment goes deep into the fall, I hope ND has a good backup plan.

Not the same coaching staff, not the same situation. At all. Also, even after missing on Shipley, ND landed 2 really good RBs in that class so....

I also don’t see Amorion Walker, Will Shipley type comparisons here. I get those are the hot misses but they aren’t alike. The most comparable to me is actually Billy Schrauth at times last year. It was for a shorter periods but there were clear times when Schrauth had verbally committed silently and the staff was just like uhh what are we waiting on this is kinda weird. Wisconsin later then had the same period. Now lengthen that out + have it be a QB not a OL and I think the staff is in a similar mindset right now with Moore. We’re confident but like uhhh what’s going on here still you said you were gonna announce

The worry there naturally having pointed that out is a silent isn’t really worth anything. Schrauth silently committed and decommitted from 2 schools. Will Moore do the same? Has he already? We wait.

While I agree this would be a simple question, it's seems clear from the the lack of crystal balls and forecasts from other sites that Dante/his family/ND staff has somewhat asked for this not to be talked about "publicly" for whatever reason.
