Not really. Mentioned he's a really solid mature kid. Very accurate with ball placement and good judgement. Said he's about 6'2" 208lb and should be about 215lb - 220lb next year. No indication on where he's leaning or what he thinks of ND, but that he'd be a good fit athletically and academically.

Thanks!

247 is doing 60% off right now

Thanks for letting me know. It's a very good discount that they're giving but I'm not sure that I want to pay almost 5,000% more for a subscription than I just did, considering I've never subscribed to one of these before. We'll see how on3 is and maybe next year I'll switch it up.

Apparently is staying regardless (as of now).

I’d be more optimistic if the QB coach got a NFL gig than anything related to Harbaugh.

Weiss (QB coach who John is lending Jim), some people think is the genesis of all of this. Apparently he is friends with the Vikings GM and started the connection. You’d think if Jim takes the job, Weiss would be going with. Hopefully Weiss gets a NFL gig or even ends up with the Vikings regardless.

FWIW on another site Michigan guy, EJ Holland thinks it's a UM/MSU battle with ND even with the likes of Oregon, etc. We've all been led to believe it's a three-way battle so not sure what that's about. If he's waiting to see what happens with how our offense develops, I think we become the clear leader with an eventual commit.

I think if he waits that long we have lost virtually all value in getting a big splash commit and that helping us real in other top skill players

Sure but we would have an elite QB, which long run is more valuable than the splash.
I just don't see him waiting that long. Nor do I see a QB of his caliber going to Sparty. If Harbaugh really sticks and Michigan's staff stays put, odds are he's going there. Which is too bad for him and for us.

I need you to make a splash, Tommy, and if you can't do it then I have to do it. People pay to get wet.

I feel like this post was making good albeit pessimistic sense then the last optimistic part comes from nowhere.

This feels like a lost cause. I can just feel it in my bones. Like walking up to a 15 foot putt. No way in hell I’m sinking this.

Is that quote from wiltfong?
Yeah it is. For what it's worth Loy wouldn't go that far. He said ND is running "2nd at worst." Regardless it is super early. This will be a battle until signing day.

The days of boring signing days are over for ND.

I wouldn’t blame the staff for at least locking up a 2nd QB earlier in that case, if not dropping him altogether if it gets to that point.

Smells like a 'scUM is in the lead but we need to keep generating clicks and quick-hitters throughout this recruitment since it's a 5-star QB' thing.

We're one "sources inside the Gug" from really being able to write this one off.

Even if they truly feel like we're in the thick of it to leading RIGHT now it will always be in these guys best interests to drag it out until the last moment possible.

Its not likely to be a battle to signing day. I think he will commit to Michigan and say things similar to what Will Shipley said and we will all realise ND was never in it. Hopefully we will have a good 4 star like Johnson locked up well before that happens.

I wonder if there are NIL considerations to when a player commits?

If he commits early, it would give more time to build up hype and potentially land new deals.

Although if the school is arranging the deals, it might make sense to wait till the last minute to drive the hardest bargain.

Can't think of a more important position for the 2023. WR maybe. That's about it.

They need a star trigger man.

I would blame the staff for NOT locking up a second QB if this is going to drag into the fall.

Maybe NIL and easy transfers changes the game but you can’t play it slow with quarterback recruiting and risk not getting one. Same goes for Michigan. Unless they’re certain that he’s a lock-solid silent commit they’ll push him to decide fairly early too.
