Can you point out some examples? This is a great observation
EJ Holland is no longer prefacing every clip of Moore at 7-on-7 camps with “could he be a package deal with teammate and scUM commit Semaj Morgan???” Maybe it’s a coincidence, or maybe he knows it’s not going that way now. He was much more focused on Morgan’s highlights than Moore’s yesterday.
ScUM just offered Julian Sayin, along with a couple of other ‘24 QB’s. My hypothesis is that scUM was banking on getting Moore in ‘23, then using the Carr connection to push for CJ as their only focus in ‘24 as a sort of luxury. Why ramp up ‘24 QB recruiting when it appears Moore’s recruitment may be winding down, unless you know you have to transition your sites to an elite ‘24 QB since you aren’t getting your guy in ‘23?
Lastly, the tea leaves are in the way the coverage is shifting. It’s starting to feel like one of those recruitments where one beat takes over as the recruitment starts to trend in that program’s direction.
And I hate to keep leaning on EJ Holland’s erratic social media persona for clues, but he has fully transitioned to the “troll Notre Dame fans at any cost” phase of covering a recruitment, which means he’s feeling insecure and trying to strike back to make himself feel better, since he can’t help but feel personally responsible every time scUM lands a good player.
