And people thought Bama was going to start cooling down in the NIL world. Ha what fools. 12 top 100 players.

The only thing NIL did to Bama is up the price. What was costing them 50k now cost 200k+. They'll be fine, in fact, it will likely be easier now , because it can all be done out in the open.

If that's the case then shame on the majority of other schools because they damn sure got more money tucked away than Bama.
For the record, Pete Golding was in a Tuscaloosa bar after the Iron Bowl drinking and running his mouth. Do you know about what? Saban's approach to NIL. He refuses to play the upfront game and P4P. His approach is just like most other schools... if you come you can expect to make "x" amount of money through NIL.

As it should be. As it's intended. But do you really expect us to believe Saban isn't turning a blind eye to someone else handling the upfront payment?

I'm a firm believer that "ALL" of college football has been doing this in some way shape or form for far too long as this point. Plausible deniability can be a very powerful resource in certain situations. Now it is no longer needed. How (NIL or P4P) may still be up for debate, sure, but the cost has gone up.

I think when it comes to Bama and P4P it's just another excuse as to why Bama gets recruits and others lose out. It has nothing to do with Saban's relentless approach to recruiting, the 70+ players on active NFL rosters, the nine or so OL that's been drafted high in the past decade, or the fact that Bama has an OL coach now that has a proven track record of putting lineman in the league. And notice I didn't say anything about the NCs the past 15 years. We may very well lose out on T. Mitchell today because he has been shopping around since June. We also could lose out on Smith and Russaw. Why? Because there are others that are offering the upfront money.

Crazy thing about Bama. Get the best recruits, coach the shit out of them, send them off to the NFL. Rinse and repeat. As much as I hate watching his painful interviews, the guy has a lot to offer a football player. I’ll take him over the dirtbags like Lincoln Riley any day.

He signed.

Alabama hasn't lost much besides a three-star OL & a lower four-star safety.

Y'all are fine.

Alabama now has 6 Five-Stars in their ‘23 Class

But would they fit at ND? Have they heard about the relationships you can build at ND that set you up for life?

Yeah this is a stfu moment and no desire to wish him well. See you in the portal next year and just keep insulting your home state jack ass

Also admitting you took a bag to go to Alabama even though it’s a smaller bag is a huge L

Seriously, I'm not sure if they do or not, but I really think these all-star games these players are playing in need to have some type of convention that teaches these dudes how to talk to the media and how to act on social media. They need to realize the microscope they're going to be under good or bad. I remember one of my former athletes in college had to go through a similar program as a freshman in college. I think these "elite" players would be better served doing something similar, especially since all of these recruiting analysts are searching for a story at these practices and game weeks.

well its probably the last time they will be speaking to the media unfiltered for the next 3 years usually. Most schools would be training players how to behave etc but they aren't on campus yet

Still, they'll be on social media for the rest of their lives and I'm sure few of them have been instructed on what is the right way to handle themselves in these settings.

Being developed and put into the NFL is going to outweigh the NIL money every time. Bama, UGA, Ohio State will still get theirs while the Oregons and TAMUs will pay out for a lot of bustas.

We had to do this all the way back in 2011 at a small mid-major. And that was the baby stages of Twitter that no one even paid attention to haha.

I get that the kid has a sky high ceiling, but he got absolutely destroyed when I was watching him last night. One play he held/tackled the defensive end and the qb still got sacked. The ref wanted to throw a flag but just ate it instead. I’m shocked that Alabama doesn’t have someone else to start over him. That could be trouble for them

He was getting worked over that’s for sure.

Large him, but over weight. Huge talent but a long ways to go. Will be hard to get in the shape needed in season

I don’t care his recruiting ranking, if you’re an elite program starting a true freshman on the OL, you’re in trouble.

ND and Bama both have done it in recent years. It might not be ideal but neither were in trouble when it happened.

If they can't get his Proctor's weight under control, he needs to slide inside.

So we’re elite now!! We want Bama!

Ha. Yes, soon as I hit post on that I realized that we have done same. But it is certainly not ideal and a liability against top-level DLs. Surprised Bama couldn’t someone better out there.

Depends. Didn't Fischer start for ND his freshman season? Miami is also starting a true freshman, five-star recruit at RT this year and he looked pretty good against a very good A&M d-line.

Sometimes, talent is talent and you gotta play the best guys, even if he's a young'in.
