In theory he can now play lacrosse after his Sr year in football. So maybe get healthy for the last football season then play lacrosse with his brother spring of 27
The plan was originally that he would play this spring with his brother, then go full time football after the season + prep for the 2027 draft. I'm assuming that the move to drop football now signals that he is done playing lacrosse until the NFL path has fully run its course. Speculating, but I think it's probably a combination of:
1. Taking leadership role in football / ensuring he doesn't lose his starting spot
2. He's probably earned a large cut of NIL / rev share for next year which comes with commitments
3. He wants to continue to get better and build chemistry with CJ to maximize production for next year. Team success, individual success, draft stock, etc. why spend 5 months focused on lacrosse when it could potentially cost you millions or negatively impact football next year.
