He's looked good but he's thrown 24 passes and never had to go to his 2nd read. Everything's 1-2 and out by design. Can't hold it against him and he has looked good, but he hasn't needed to quarterback yet.

I would be totally fine with passing on a graduate student qb. Put that money towards a wr and a pass rusher. I think angeli wins the same amount of games as Hartman if he were the qb1 this yesr

1) That's why I was saying in another thread I would be ok with going with current QB roster in '24, but with a good OC/QB coach, esp. if we can't get a top GT QB and 2) I always have said that Tommy early on didn't do so well with QB eval and/or get best QB we could get, but I feel he did a good job w/ securing Minchey (esp. this being late in the game) and of course Carr. I would say it was a miss with Angeli in one sense... He was ready to throw Angeli aside for Allar and would've if he could've so he was fortunate there that Allar said talk to the hand.

Liked what I saw in Angeli --- but frankly I've always thought he looked the part of a good QB --- we'll see I guess.
Agreed, the only thing you want to see from Angeli is that he shows all the composure, eyes down field and perfectly-placed throws in big games with DL pressure in your face. No way to get that other than to start in those games.

Any reason why we can't do that for 2 years?
Not that he can’t be more than that but under the premise that is all he can do or be, you’re not winning many playoff games. Good teams will make you one dimensional and beat you.

Long story short, he or any other QB needs to be more than that if we are to achieve what we want. Now, with that said, winning “playoff” games gets a lot easier next year.

He is right, they actually had a run like 15 years ago where there was 4-5 starting QBs in the NFL from MSU. Cousins, Cook, Stanton, Hoyer and I think I'm missing one
Connor Cook is a good comp for how Angeli looks throwing the football, and size wise. Good news is that Angeli isn't a complete toolbag like Cook.

Nick Foles started at MSU before transferring to Arizona
Isn't the one constant during those year HC Mark Dantonio? Whatever happened to him after he was forced to resign from MSU back in 2019?
