They’re is a guy on a Notre Dame Football facebook page saying Deland McCullough is gonna accept a job with his good friend Deion Sanders at Colorado. Could be annonced as early as tomorrow. Let’s hope the guy is wrong.
Uh. Ok. As OC? Because otherwise why? Dude's got one of the best RB rooms in the country coming back next year.

Deion is Deion. Not to play the race card but I see the draw of just Deion being Deion plus he’s a black coach that will pull black players and coaches. He got the #1 recruit in the nation to flip from FSU to JSU… he will get players.

Problem is he probably doesn’t want to follow his dad again. What if after 2023 his dad gets a job offer to be a OC or HC somewhere…he has to go where he wants to go and build his own legacy. Now, if ND is that place, and he could see himself there without his dad…bring ‘‘em in!

Not to state the obvious here, but ND has a black coach that seems pretty good as recruiting himself.

I get it, but not sure that would be "the" reason.

I don’t know. You do remember thats just before coming to Nd, there were talks about him taking the rb coaching job for the NY Giants so…we never know. He is a very good friend of Deion.

Well, he had the chance to be close to his kids, which I imagine was a pretty big deal.

I can't imagine he just up and leaves a stocked RB room for a downgrade at Colorado, where he'd have to build everything from the ground up. OC on the other hand? Perhaps. And that would majorly suck.

Would have to be OC if true.

I guess I just assumed it was always going to be ND. If he just wanted to go to OSU, why didn’t he just stay committed instead of following dad to IU? Kinda weird.

Would suck for him to come to ND and his dad leave him hanging again. 🤷‍♂️

Colorado has been one of the worst teams in P5 for years and has one of the most talent deficient rosters in P5. This isn’t Riley or BK or even Kiffin. Those rosters had significantly more existing talent. Deion could add 30 transfers and hit on every single of them and still struggle. This is a rebuild. It’ll take a few years minimum to expect anything more than a couple Pac 12 wins.

Besides, he’s put in a built in cap on his roster in his son being the QB. Shedeur is good but he honestly could probably land a better QB if he wanted to.

From the jump it was assumed McCullough wouldn’t be around for long. He wants to be an OC or head coach ASAP. So if it’s not Colorado it could be somewhere else. I think he’s got one more year at ND, max.

Great points. 😂

Just… it’s Deion freaking Sanders.
You mean the shyster behind Prime Prep? Deion retired from the NFL 17 years ago, and he's been selling snake oil ever since.

No idea why some assume he's got irresistable star power over kids that weren't even born yet when he stopped playing.

He doesn't need to charm kids, he needs to charm boosters.

He did just get a 5* WR in the 2025 class. #14 overall on 247. 🤷‍♂️

Back to Dasan, the 247 board is already in a tizzy he’s going to OSU because ND admissions. All the talk last summer was he would surely end up at ND if he wanted to. Dasan goes to a quality school and his father his employed by ND, if he didn’t take classes in mind he may transfer only one semester in than not sure what he was doing. Seems more likely he may just choose OSU fair and square.

Couldnt agree more with your first point.

The second, count me in the crowd that thinks he will have a ton of juice with the generation of kids he is recruiting. He basically was this current generation with the swag and me me me attitude 30 years ago. He IS this generation, but way ahead of his time back when he was “different”. He is relatable to them, but were also talking about an all time great as a player. The kids all know who he is, they know about Primetime, the swagger, the gamebreaking player. I mean there are hundreds of football players that were before my time, but I know who they are and if I had aspirations in the sport I would jump at the opportunity to play for them….and this isnt just any player from his generation. I think sometimes because of the circus he was as a personality, people forget just how good he was as a player. Smart, athletic, competitive. He was the whole package.

I just hope that tizzy doesn’t continue for other recruits. The window opens and closes quick. Ain’t nobody got time for ND admissions.
