I really dislike the use of “must get” with regards to specific prospects but I get it when comes specific positions or position groups.

I think we’ve seen how important that Single High S can be in Freeman’s scheme. I don’t think we have enough of those guys on roster, maybe none sans Henderson. I don’t think the other 3 DB’s in the class can. And, I think missing on a S that can do those things, in this class, will have an impact on the field at some point in the future.

Florida just hired away LSU’s DB coach that everyone loves.
Moore is pumped about it.
This one is over.

Driskell was saying today that he expects us to get a couple of commits within a week or so. Hopefully one is a DB.

Well BD, as you know one is def. Rhett and I would imagine Bowen is soon as well.

Well, Rhett will be Saturday at 7pm.

Schrauth is not making a visit this weekend & is deciding, so he could be another.

Driskell not really breaking any news. I do find it interesting that he hammered BK all the time for not closing on kids & saying that some kids just don’t want to leave home or go to ND is an excuse. Yet, Freeman & Mickens have been recruiting Moore for a year & lost him, yet Driskell isn’t blaming them & using the “excuse” for them.

A tweet tonight after the announcement of the hire.

For reference for others than it’s this:

With the transfer portal being what it is, you have to imagine recruiting must remain an open door these days. If the SEC doesn’t work out for this young man, Freeman is going to let him know all the whys for Notre Dame. He’s going to leave that lasting impression on his brain. So even though he is likely going to select Florida, ND will remain academically superior, and with the bowl win, athletically superior with a better record.

On the Florida site someone asked their mods what that tweet meant & one mod answered Moore was excited about the hire, then hinted that Moore knew ahead of time because they told him at his in-home visit.

Just a heads up, Christian from ISD was told basically that we'll see after tonight with Moore.

Who knows, not optimistic, but Freeman doing an in-home can have a pretty substantial effect on a kid.

Did the in-home already happen or is that tonight?

Goodnight indeed. Will be ecstatic if he comes back into the fold but certainly not expecting it.

Bingo, you have unearthed the "game within the game"

Consider Isaiah Pryor. The staff did not burn bridges with him and when the time came for him to leave Columbus, it was a quick move to South Bend.

The staff has spent a lot of time on Nwankpa, Alex Styles, and Moore.

Some see waste.
You see investment in the future.

You nailed it!
Thanks.

Nothing changed.
He is still visiting Florida this weekend per Rivals.
His mind was made up already.

Not surprised....the tweet and the picture gave me the vibe that it was a courtesy to the coaches to visit.

Time to dig into the portal.

Hit the portal and let's lock up that 23 class.

We can only hit the grad transfer pool, which really limits things.

I hope Freeman and Jack work to get non grad transfers that have the grades and are on track to graduate. If not, this is just another way we are handcuffing ourselves.

Agreed. Going forward, it's going to be a major factor for Power Five College Football. They need to utilize it to whatever degree.

"Hi, I'm HCMF² and you are the next Sauce Gardner or the next Kyle Hamilton... your choice."

Now wut Florida?

Florida says that they just hired the guy who made LSU = DBU

Devin Moore should still come to ND, but that's not the argument that'll work.
