Anything other than the West Coast would be a surprise. Big assumption was that he may want to be closer to his family back in Corona, California.
That was the assumption we wanted to make to give him a pass for “quitting on his team” midseason. It’s certainly more a FU if he transfers to a B1G bottom feederAnything other than the West Coast would be a surprise. Why?It’s certainly more a FU if he transfers to a B1G bottom feeder
Why?
Because he quit on his team and supposedly wanted to be closer to home. When did it change and become ok to quit in the middle of a season? After the year is whatever but during a season?
Fair questions. I'd say when ND started processing kids with med redshirts.
Mickey is still going to school and on track to graduate in the spring. Why is it okay for ND to churn the roster, but it's not okay for players to look for better opportunities
He didn't make the 4 game rule. The NCAA created these in season decision points.I have absolutely no problem with him leaving after the past spring or after this season. Leaving in the middle of the season is quitting on the team. Just my opinion.
One thing to keep in mind why some guys leave the team, they need 24/7 to get on top of classwork to graduate early. Staff in many cases prefers this as it opens up the scholarship in time for a new player in the current recruiting class.
He didn’t. Some speculated it was that based on his Mom passing. It was all about our depth chart and projected depth chart next year. He has NFL dreams and he wants to start. I think that’s all it is.When did he ever say it was to be closer to home? This is what college football is he is getting his degree and moving on
I know that it's people on here who are butt hurt he's transferring. He lost playing time to Moore and he is taking advantage of the rules and I have no issue with thatHe didn’t. Those people suck. It’s people on here who are fans of a team and spectators who have zero obligation to give grace and charitable thoughts to anyone.
I don't think it's hard to elevate the human above the sport and not shit on them for doing what they think is best for themselves.....because it's a sport that provides me entertainment.Because as big an asshole as you think it makes me, I promise you that I equally consider your a bizarre jock sniffer.
It's also a team sport and he quit on his teammates in the middle of the season, apparently just because one of them passed him on the depth chart. I don't really feel the need to "elevate" that.I don't think it's hard to elevate the human above the sport and not shit on them for doing what they think is best for themselves.....because it's a sport that provides me entertainment.
But you're good with processing kids that we took a verbal from? It's also a team sport and he quit on his teammates in the middle of the season, apparently just because one of them passed him on the depth chart. I don't really feel the need to "elevate" that.
No one here has any fucks to give at your weird ass virtue signaling. And NO i do not, these are highly paid and rewarded gladiators. They accept the hoorays and boos with the lofty status they are afforded for athletic prowess. If it is too much for any of them than they are more than welcome to pay for a chemistry degree like everyone else.I don't think it's hard to elevate the human above the sport and not shit on them for doing what they think is best for themselves.....because it's a sport that provides me entertainment.
You mean recruits before they're signed? I don't love it, no, but I understand why it happens occasionally (just like I understand why Mickey did what he did.) I imagine you'll see less of it with 105 scholarships. But you're good with processing kids that we took a verbal from?
Who is elevating it (edit - the situation)? I'm trying to figure out why it's so important to that fuck to denigrate the guy two weeks after the decision. I get coming here to vent when it happened,It's also a team sport and he quit on his teammates in the middle of the season, apparently just because one of them passed him on the depth chart. I think the fact that he’s sticking around to graduate says he’s making one smart life decision we can all agree on.I don’t really care what a teenager/young adult decides to do with life, as I’m still trying to figure out mine. My hope is everyone is trying to do right by life however that manifests.
I think the point is he would be getting more PT now and he’s not a bench warmer. He has received a lot of support from the ND community and been the subject of news specials. If he leaves at the end of a season ok. If he isn’t leaving to be closer to home which is a homesick family issue then ok. If he quits mid season and goes somewhere that isn’t closer to home then no thanks. Churn the roster? What does that mean exactly. Kid wants to quit in his team mid season especially a season where we are losing players at his position then any remaining semesters after the season can be paid for by the quitting player.Fair questions. I'd say when ND started processing kids with medredshirtsretirements.

There was a time when as a society quitting was frowned upon, and we were better for it. Also extremely grateful you are not part of our armed forces.Who is elevating it (edit - the situation)? I get it now, though. @INLaw is just a bitter and emotional piece of shit. His whining makes sense.
Wake up then. He's changing jobs. This is where the sport is going. I know you think that sucks. There was a time when as a society quitting was frowned upon, and we were better for it.
You know what happens when you assume things about people....Also extremely grateful you are not part of our armed forces.
Did you look up skillbridge and how the military lets people go work as an intern for up to 6 months before the end of their enlistment? There was a time when as a society quitting was frowned upon, and we were better for it. Also extremely grateful you are not part of our armed forces.
