If we had Morrison, Gray and Moore one of them could play the buckle position. I’d say Moore.

I’ve got the dream 25 DBs as:

Schuler, Tae, Morrison, Gray, Moore.

That would be near as good as this season.

I would pony up big $$ if he was interested and the other corners were good with it. Not sure if either are the case or not. Talking heads have said no chance this happens though

Would be smart if he comes back, he had a average few games this season before the injury.

Where is he gonna play we just signed Smith? I guess you could move Smith to SS, and maybe convince Gray to move to NB

I would not. Chances of another injury means he’d sit out. Younger guys need to step up.

Agreed. I love the guy, but he was clearly half assing it this year trying to protect himself from injury. Go make your money B-Mo! You earned it.
To be fair, dude missed all spring with his shoulder and then had a chronic hip condition. But, yes, he was not the BenMo of 2023.
As for next year, if Golden's as good as advertised and the transfer from Bama is solid, we should be just fine. I'm curious what this will do to his draft stock though. Feels like he might fall into the second round.
Maybe, if we win Thursday, he should suit up for Ohio State and lay down one more game of film as a lockdown corner against the best WRs out there.

Golden, Mark, Blair, the kid from Fort Wayne all I think will be good enough to play if needed

Some of you guys are brutal. B Mo doesn't deserve shots for 'half-assing' it. He played with a torn labrum in his hip. He was recovering from a shoulder. He was the first lockdown corner we've had in forever and played in some of our most memorable games.

It's a damn shame we didnt' get to see him play more for the Irish and it's a shame he's been limited this year from injuries. Try not to disparage a great kid and great player. Nothing in his character makes me think he's a 'me-first' kind of guy.

Agree, if you watch the episode of Here Come the Irish after he had the season ending injury he was clearly heartbroken he wasnt going to be able to finish the season and had a tough time getting over it.

Julian Love might take exception to that comment.
Julian Love was great but B Mo unquestionably had a better career at ND. And if we're talking about questioning dedication... There's a better argument for how Love wrapped his ND career than Morrison.

As to the justice of griping about Benjamin Morrison In any way, I submit the following opinion/perspective: Before BenMo and for many years in the past, Notre Dame had a national image of NOT being "All-American" good at defensive corner. It doesn't make any difference if one can cite counter examples to that claim, the fact was that we did have that reputation of not developing good corners (Safeties? OK; corners?, no.)

And year after year after year we have had trouble recruiting top corner high schoolers and being thought of as nowhere near the cornerback powerhouses of the South or even USC or OSU etc. We have NEVER been a candidate for being called DBack-U.

Along comes BenMo. Halfway through his freshman year the national commentators are wondering who the heck this youngster is, and will he fold with time or is he a genuine freshman AA? As time goes on, more eyes focus on this Notre Dame corner phenom.

When our safeties then do what Notre Dame safeties do, commentators begin talking about Notre Dame having one of the best secondaries in the country. Watts explodes and several other corners and nickels attract attention. All of a sudden, we have a completely different reputation (which Moore continues and profits from.)

If we keep up the standards we are seeing now, Notre Dame will utterly turn that bad rap around. And the era of Notre Dame as DBack U will date from the arrival of Benjamin Morrison.

So I say: all hail BenMo!

I feel like there is a good chance he comes back next year, given how much it would hurt his draft stock with the injury if he came out this year.

I saw a mock draft on The Ringer today that still has him as a first round pick.

Revel from ECU and BMo despite being injured this season are probably going to be the third and fourth CB taken off of the board after Hunter and Johnson. There isn't any reason for him to return.

Some of the takes here are bird cage liner. FFS.
