Same here. 16 surgeries for me all together, from ankles to elbow & hips and shoulders were the worst by far. Oh, and I had all 5 lumbar discs fused as well. I would put that surgery 5th worst behind both hips the worst & most painful, followed closely with both shoulders. Lower back won the longest scar award though, hahaha!

Hahaha, no. I played on the varsity team at my small school for 6 seasons (7th grade thru 12th) as a running back and a linebacker. Got a scholarship to a DII school as a linebacker and played for 5 years (redshirted my 3rd year because of ACL reconstruction. Tore it in the 1st game of the season!) Now I am knocking on the door to 50 years old and kind or regretting my reckless abandon to make tackles and to gain an extra yard. My body didn’t hold up too well to all the collisions.

Legitimately didn't even think this was allowed lol, impressive no matter how big or small the school. There's a LOT of growing that occurs between 7th grade and senior year, those were some big boys you were practicing with and playing against.

Sorry to hear about the years of pain. My grandma recent told me that at her and my Grandpa's 50th HS reunion, it was the football players who looked the most worn down. Brutal sport that we all love.

Hope you can find some effective and lasting treatment and relief in the years ahead.

For a fifth-round pick (Howard Cross last year, for instance), yeah, agreed, especially if you're in a good college program and still have upside.
For a first-round pick there's so much money to be made in the NFL it's hard to say no.

Corner in the NFL is a young mans game, and the sooner he starts the age clock toward his second contract the better off he will be in the long run, and earn all the guaranteed money he can.

Not many 30+ year old corners in the league right now playing at a high level.

Agreed. Top 10-15 picks in the NFL Draft are looking at $15-$25M in guarantees over the course of their first contract. And the highest paid corner in the NFL makes $24M per year.

You don't jeopardize that for a $2-$3M NIL payday. The guy has nothing left to prove. He should sit out the remainder of the season and make the jump to the NFL.

Yep, Vikings were in a desperate spot after one of thier corners had an ACL injury in camp, and another was tragically killed in a car accident, and they gave him 7M+ guarnteed.

He has played fine for the most part, but obviously isn't even close to what he was even a few years ago like his 2021 pro bowl season.
