ISD just shot this line of thinking down. And it makes sense; a player might sit out to keep his options open, but wouldn't elect to have surgery on a hip in an effort to maintain his draft stock.

This is where NIL changes things. He may make more next year with NIL byt would be getting 2nd contract one year earlier if he leaves. Interested to watch it play out.
