The grass isn't always greener on the other side. He started to make an impact on ST at ND, I think he could've worked his way to start or become a key backup.

I wish we wouldn't fucking dogpile on kids who transfer out to lower schools and have a hard time finding success. I wish he could start for them, there was no way he was starting for ND. It just wasn't clicking but I wish he'd still get to play football, he was a helluva HS player.
I think people mistakenly aim their ire at the kid when its more an indirect shot at the same dogshit posters who go on and on about how there is something wrong with our program when a kid transfers out.

100%. Thank you for posting this.

Guy transferred closer to home and to the coach that recruited him. IMO, he's a better position to get snaps there than he would be at ND, as well.

That's 3 clear pros to his choice "to move in another direction". But people want to shit on him. Why? Because he was hyped and it didn't pan out? Why are the projections of others being used as a baseline to denigrate a young man searching for where he feels he fits and is comfortable?

If he wasn't holding up his end of the deal, I can understand the taking some joy in his continued lack of success. I'm not aware of any reports of misconduct, poor effort (ball and school), bad attitude. It just didn't work out at ND for him and he has plenty of company in that regard.

This makes sense for some. The program should be criticized for poor player evaluation, institutional roadblocks that, in the poster's opinion, should be changed. Continuing to take delight in the players failure to take shots at posters is...just...I don't respect it.

I don’t think it’s people shitting on him. It’s defensive posting in response to how posters on here complain we lost a recruit, complain we don’t develop players, etc. They are more trying to say “see…it’s not ND’s fault, he isn’t playing at XYZ school either”.

I think it’s also in relation to the Vandy media overreacting by proclaiming he was going to be an instant impact player. That’s not a realistic statement for a player that hadn’t proven himself in college yet.

I can understand that way of thinking, I just don't respect dragging the kid and not the people making the statements. It will always be ND's "fault", they offered him. People are going to continue to do this and I think it sucks.
