I simply don't understand how we're losing guys when they can't even visit

Admits to hearing coaches out but doesn’t sound any more urgent than that.

Hearing out UM coaches?
Del needs to get his butt in gear. This doesn't look good at all
ND, as per always, is behind the curve. Other schools have obviously found a way to appeal to recruits during this time. We're getting out efforted. It's fucking embarrassing.I simply don't understand how we're losing guys when they can't even visit
Okay. If Styles actually flipped to Michigan, I think you all could start questioning things.
But we have had one decommitment in like 2 years now and everyone acts like the world is ending (and it ain't even cause this damn virus).
This virus thing has changed everyone's plans and how recruiting works, but ND has NOT stopped recruiting kids and putting in work. We just had a commitment of our own.
Fact of the matter is there is probably going to be loads of flips (for all teams) later in the year as we approach signing day because kids will have actually (hopefully) had a chance to take their visits. Right now kids are panicking and committing to teams to ensure that they have spots.
Yeah, but it's not exactly like that, is it? Word from people actually tapped into the program indicate that we lost Colzie because he "wasn't feeling the love". What that means, I don't exactly know. But what I do know is that if we ever want to hang with the Bamas and Clemsons of the world, we need people like Colzie. If that means stroking the kid's ego or at the very least keeping up with the Jones with regards to recruiting tactics during these times, THEN SO BE IT!
And not for nothing, but if you want to bury your head in the sand and pretend that there isn't smoke regarding Styles, be my guest and enjoy the view. Bottom line is the writing is on the wall and Notre Dame is once again getting lapped on the trail.
You're not wrong about loads of flips still to come, doesn't make the Colzie thing any more palatable. We have a QB stud committed for '21. How on Earth is it that our WR class is decreasing and not increasing? Unacceptable.
Literally who said that?
Tim Prister and gang on one of the more recent Irish Illustrated Insider podcasts, 3/26 episode I believe.
Yes, ND is doing the same thing that other schools are. Is every assistant coach, that I'm less sure of. Keep in mind we just landed a 4 star DE from Texas that had offers from Bama, LSU, and Oklahoma. So, it's not like the whole recruiting department is suffering. Some perspective here is important. I'll share some thoughts in the MasterList thread.
We have heard this from previous decommits. They lie, babies ect. But never, ever, ever say that BK needs to do better. BK is perfect.
Strange, I didn't see your complimentary post in David Abiara's thread? If it was Bk's fault that we lost Colzie then BK gets props when we land Abiara. Pretty simple really, unless there is an alternative agenda.
BK face timed with Fisher, Spindler, and Tengwall before Tengwall's commitment. Obviously, his 'effort' didn't end up meaning much did it? Just like some have speculated it wouldn't have with previous prospects in previous cycles that claimed it was a deciding factor. It's an easy out.
Some things are Bk's fault and others are just the process of recruiting a large number of players from all over the country. It's either time to start accepting all information or not commenting at all. You seem to chime in at times like this to take shots at Bk but not when we get a commit from a DE that had LSU and Bama offers. Wonder why this is?
As I've stated numerous times, I think there is reason for criticism based on the information we have. However, if one cannot accept both sides of the recruiting process and enjoy the good with the bad. I'm not sure we have much of a need for that around here.
The story that has been presented by almost everyone is that distance is playing a factor. Not love.
The entire committed class tried to convince him to not decommit. Mom wants him at ND, and he likes ND, but he is worried it will be too far from home.
The kid gets plenty of love from everyone involved. Probably still does.
I'm sure distance is part of it Beau, but "showing love" was not something Irish Illustrated crew just said randomly and moved on.
They came back to it later in the show and restated what they had heard and they were talking specifically about Colzie.
