Ohio St is adding 5 stars and ND is losing them, plain and simple.

Very concerning that they're losing current commits AND the big time OL recruits they wanted.

This doesn’t change with the addition of a DL that had offers from LSU and Bama? Or potentially landing an OL that was offered by OSU? Again, we have to acknowledge both sides of it.

My experience, ND recruits just as hard as every other big time program. Whether FaceTime, text, calls, weekly post cards, etc. they are doing it. Recruiting is 24/7 business for these programs and coaches to maintain successful programs, and their jobs.... Parents/Recruits need to treat it as a business too. Don’t get caught up in the hype of the pictures, coaches telling you that you’re their guy, twitter articles, they plan to play you early, etc. Once again it’s a business, and until they sign that intent letter the recruiting process continues.

Recruits need to make the best personal/business decision for themselves academically, personally based on what position they play, and socially on what campus is a good fit for them.

For Lorenzo, whether he plays WR or DB he’s ALL IN at ND. For my son Sonny that may be different, we will go through the same process to determine what school is best fit for for him.

Best regards, Styles’ Mom

Thank you for the contribution. Really enjoy getting this perspective.

It’s making its way around so felt I should bring it here. EJ Holland (yes, that EJ Holland) is reporting that he expect him to commit to UM. Nothing from ND’s reporters yet.

Matt from ISD said, in far kinder words, those rumors are BS, and the UM pundits are overblowing it. Doesn't rule out the possibility, but based on what they've heard, no reason to think Styles is going to flip.

To say Matt and for that matter all of ISD has more credibility than this rivals asshat would be massive understatement.

Don't disagree at all. Unfortunately you're asking a teenager to make a business decision which means stripping out all of the hype and salesmanship that drives the emotional aspect. That's almost impossible for most. Even many parents get caught up in it because they love that their kid is getting all of this attention.

A positive update here.

catch him on ESPN this weekend

https://espnpressroom.com/us/press-...chool-football-kickoff-returns-for-11th-year/

Sunday, Aug. 30
Pickerington North (Ohio) vs. Pickerington Central (Ohio)
Noon on ESPN2 from Pickerington Central High School in Pickerington, Ohio

Pickerington Central won the Ohio Div. I state championship in 2019, making it their second title in three years. Senior WR Lorenzo Styles Jr. (Notre Dame commit) is the No. 242 ranked player in the nation; ATH Garner Wallace (Northwestern commit) and RB Nick Mosely (Bowling Green commit) round out the senior class, while junior DE C.J. Doggette has offers that include Michigan State, Pittsburgh and West Virginia.
Pickerington North looks to build on a first-round playoff appearance from last season, with senior DE Elijah Hawk (Bowling Green) leading the way on defense.

Just a really smooth athlete. Everything looks easy and natural.

Sonny is a problem out there at FS. Incredible length and anticipation as a field general. I look forward to "Team Styles" return to further the discussion on the younger brother.

Just watched the 17 minute youtube highlights.
Take aways:
1. Its good to watch some football
2. Lets just get brother Alex locked up now. He is very good. At 6-4 already where does he end up?

OSU offered him right after the game. His only other offer was Indiana.

Because he committed so early he’s been somewhat unheralded amongst ND boards. If this was a kid that committed this week, for example, it’d be huge news. Styles, Colzie, and Thomas is such a high quality group.
