Freaking Anna Hickey CB'd Clemson. Boo!
That would be like getting excited over a Tom Loy CB in favor of the Irish.
We are in play here, keep the faith.

I just worry about having all of our eggs in one basket.

Lol his excuse for not coming is completely nonsensical. If Taylor can’t convince him to come on March 22, then it’s going to be Clemson.
Can you share his reasoning?
These are the names to know at RB. Shipley, Edwards, Wheaton, and Kiner.
Guys like this are always confusing...
They talk about how great ND is, the academics, the opportunities and then forget all about it when a non academic, power football school offers. I mean, the kid is a top RB, didnt he think he wouldnt get power football school offers?
His other lead schools are mostly Carolina-based, right? A sign he values being close to home? And it’s friggin’ Clemson.
I’d like our chances on this one against literally any other school, given the inroads we’ve already made. But if Dabo really wants him this is going to be hard to win.
Proximity to home has always been a big factor in his decision and it seems like that's what is pulling him in multiple directions. At one point, NCSU was considered a favorite for a top 30-40 recruit, if that tells you anything.
If he was in Indiana, we've probably already wrapped this recruitment up.
NCSt's early position came from both parents being alums and him being around the school growing up.
You think his parents being alums would have the same impact if he lived in Texas? Or California? Or Ohio? The fact they live within a few hours of the campus is probably the pull.
It sounds like everyone is waving the white flag. Is that the consensus?
I think our best hope here is our relationship with him + this RB scaring him off.
ISD had an article way back where Shipley questioned how it'd work with Chris Tyree coming in before him, but that was smoothed over when they two met and he met with the staff.
This guy's a much better prospect than Tyree.

If he doesn't come to ND, it's because staying close to home and playing for a National Championship was more important than an elite education and playing for the McCaffrey Maker, just as Lucky pointed out.
1. Best hope is we have the only RB coach to develop a white NFL RB. I'd ride that stereotype like a white stallion into battle all day, every day. AND said RB Coach hasn't been lazy. He's quite possibly the smartest human on the planet for as often as he's stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Matthews.
2. If he EVER says he didn't choose ND cuz of Tyree, he's lying. Tyree will nevah be a feature back who shoulders the load. He's gonna end up a weapon X. ND is actually the PERFECT school to go to if you are a 5* back who can handle the load and wants the ball a lot.
Going to Clemson means giving 5* RB Demarcus Bowman a 12 month headstart plus they already have 4* Phil Mafah signed in '21... nor to mention the rest of their roster including Chez Mellusi and Kobe Pryor, both of which I'd have loved to see in SB.
