That sucks for Mr. Tengwall but I’m glad he’s looking out for his long term health.

It’s interesting to read back in this thread and see everyone’s thoughts at the time. ND ended this class with Alt/Fisher/Spindler/Coogan which is pretty decent.

Quinn had his weaknesses, but during his tenure ND recruited well.

I thought missing on Tengwall was really going to hurt, shockingly our 4 guys from that class are all starting right now. And if 2 weren't already so damn good, we'd have them starting for another year together. Best of luck to Landon, hopefully PSU falls apart this year.

If ND got Tengwall we wouldn’t have Joe Alt being Joe Alt right now, probabsly.
Alt was a TE & after missing on Tengwall they took a chance on Alt turning into an OT.
I remember one person who runs his own site absolutely hammering Quinn for not getting Tengwall.

Blast from the past but his dad called me out on a post I made... my source, ironically, was one of his friends who was an assistant coach of mine at the time. All I was going for in the post was that Landon didn't really have the level of interest in ND that was being implied + fluffed up by people on the ND beat. He connected way better with the PSU OL coach and was pretty locked in on them. But because I was being cryptic he thought I was making a comment in a different direction.

Always sucks to see people have their careers cut short by something out of his control and I hope Landon finds success off the football field.

Funny how things "play out"
I'd wager that site owner isn't checking his hit rate or apologizing to Quinn for settling for Alt.
