If you expect to be the only player in a class at a very important position then you better be a special player. Otherwise compete.

This, especially at the RB position. High chance for injuries, almost always opportunities to carry the ball if you take care of business and work hard. Come in with a chip on your shoulder and earn it like Kyren, if you're gonna expect to be the only guy you better be the next Hershall Walker and built like a Terminator.

As soon as Jahmir left we were in for 2. Better this than an experienced transfer, who leapfrogs you immediately..

Logan posted his senior highlights on twitter tonight and Brian Kelly liked the tweet within an hour... never see him active on Twitter like that so probably trying to show him some love.

Smh, Kelly busy scrolling Twitter during game week. We've got no shot

Disclaimer: Diggs is the only Notre Dame commit who did not respond to the Tribune’s request to do a Q&A.

Seems like a bitchy way of putting it.
They could have just said he didn't respond.

Those guys are a bunch of hacks. Probably upset the time they spent away from whoppers, big Macs, and super sized colas to send some questionnaire wasnt reciprocated in a response.

Okay...so when I initially box score scouted Diggs, I was disappointed. However, watched his film this morning and I came away very impressed. Run hard and seems like a smooth runner. I think him Estime would be an awesome combo. Also, plays elite talent in Louisiana. Probably why his box score isn't sexy. He wasn't like Buchner playing a soft schedule

Yea, if you watch Diggs senior film, there is a lot to like here. He makes some absolutely filthy cuts.

He doesn't have elite speed, but whatever, neither does Kyren. Kid knows how to get yards and he takes pride in all aspects of the RB position including pass pro.

Per ISD, not signing today

Interesting to see how this turns out. Too short to be LB at D1 level. Wasnt sure what LSU was/is thinking. Would be sad if they baited him to play RB then switched him to LB only to hamstring his career. Wont be the first time.

Safe to assume this is being treated as a decommit, like regardless of whether he signs with LSU or not?

RB recruiting has been quite vexed this cycle. And it's no one's fault but our own.

Incorrect.

It's no one's fault except COVID.

Had it not been for it, we'd probably already have this locked up.

Just blows my mind.

As a purely academic school, LSU is about as bad as it gets.

One can make the argument that it is local but 99% of ND commits are from players out of state that had offers from in state schools so that really doesnt hold a lot of water.

Add that to the sanctions that are (and deservingly) coming and it becomes a no brainer.

LSU has a heckova lot of history with doing the wrong things. I lived there for 13 years. Most of it doesnt make it to print or on a national level of awareness. The locals are very good at protecting their school from prying eyes. So this had to be really bad to get out this much.

Am I the only one that gives zero shits about whether he sticks? Color me skeptical that a wishy washy 3-star recruit from Louisiana is going to be successful here.

I' like Estime as a bulldozer who plays against power house programs like Don Bosco. Hope the Irish flip him

If Edwards goes to Michigan, and Austine does come to ND, then I would assume they would still take Diggs at a later date. But if Edwards says ND, or ND looks at who's left after today and starts recruiting them and gets Austine now or later, Diggs could be left with LSU as his only option, and he may have screwed himself. If he really wants to go to LSU, then have a good time. But if this is because we are recruiting other backs, what does he think LSU is doing?

If JSmith hadn't transferred I would be in the same boat but its a good insurance policy if he sticks around for more than a year. I'm not a scout by any means but I liked the highlights he put out last night. I could see him being an effective 3rd back. Having C'Bo this year has allowed us to keep the work load down for Kyren against some of the lesser opponents.

Having one less back could help us in recruiting next year though so I see both sides.

Hear, hear. I'm not over the moon about him or Estime. I just don't see the speed or quickness to start at a BCS level and while we do need 1 of them, I'm over loading 3 star backs that sit forever or transfer.

We need 1 just for a body but taking both just makes it less attractive to 2022 RBs. Please don't take both.

My understanding is he knows full well LSU is recruiting other backs, he would just prefer to go there over ND and is waiting to see if they have a spot for him. IIRC, Tarean Folston did something something similar with Auburn on signing day back in 2013.

No inside info, but personally I think Diggs ends up with ND. Unless something surprising happens, LSU will sign Corey Kiner and Armoni Goodwin today, leaving Diggs the odd man out.

Nope. If you aren't all in on the school you pick on the day you sign up for 4 years of a great education and great coaching then the door is over there. I'd rather have a lower rated guy with a chip in his shoulder than someone who is a fair weather friend.

In that case I'd defer to your source then. Like I said, it was just my perception of things based on what I've read.

I've seen this movie before. I no longer think he stays with Notre Dame. Recruit someone that wants to come here.
