Reports to campus for good in a couple weeks, but it's never too late to squeeze in an official.

2022 is a weak draft, so while he could come back another year and work his way into the top five, there is an opportunity here for him to come out. I don't think he's NBA ready by any stretch. He needs to add 10-15 pounds of muscle in the gym easy. Has to move better off the ball, three point and free throw shooting need to go way up in the NBA based on his first year at ND.

I don't know where Ivey was being projected in the draft last year, but I know where he's getting projected now. Wesley needs to consider that.

Everything else is all there for him down the line. It's a question of timing. I think one more year will do him a lot of good.

I only really watched the tournament games so can't comment on his full season....But what I saw of him he 10000% should come back for another year or two.

I think I found the only person on the Internet who isn't totally full of shit.

Honestly, whatever the sample sizing, he should stay a year based on readiness and strength. If someone is willing to take him in the Top 15 regardless of readiness, however, he may want to go.

TBF, you saw him at his worst and it's not even close. He took over some games earlier in the season. He was inserted in the starting lineup in December after 5 games or so and over the course of the szn overtook Goodwin as the team's leading scorer.

Now, there is a difference between being the "leading" and most "efficient" scorer, but the dude has talent, and loads of it.

I think the biggest area of his game he can improve upon, outside of just general shooting, is shot selection. He was given a lot of freedom within Brey's offense and has the ability to attack the hole and get good looks, but he doesn't always finish under control or he jacks up threes at suspect times.

He will play in the league. I agree with Rogue that he SHOULD come back and improve his stock but who knows. Hard to say no when the league comes knockin', whether or not we understand why...

He should 100% come back, he's crazy athletic but can't finish. The NBA will eat him alive especially if he thought TTU D was tough. He should come back and fine tune his game, before he finds himself playing overseas.

He would be nuts to leave.
If he's a first round draft choice its guaranteed money. Every mock draft has him in the first round.

It doesn't matter if the fans think he's ready or not. If an NBA team is willing to use a first on him he'll go. Maybe he'll never make it but the G league will get him ready for the NBA as well as playing for ND will.

You keep going back to the same argument. How many football players end up in a mock draft and then go undrafted with 7 rounds not 2? Just because he shows up in a mock draft does not guarantee he will get drafted.

In addition, if it is about the money, I agree with what others have posted that returning for a year should help him grow and most likely move into a higher draft pick with more money and more guaranteed money.

NFL and NBA mock drafts are completely different beasts.

If the NBA intel is "you're going top ten", you go.

Ivey wasn't getting that projection a year ago. This year he probably is. Wesley is getting a top 15 projection now. He could legitimately get into the top ten this year on potential alone because the draft is on the weaker side right now.

He has ton of upside and that's all the NBA (an professional teams in general) cares about.

But, right now he is a diet coke version of Cam Reddish and without the jump shot, because Reddish was able to get hot shooting at times. And that's not a very glowing endorsement right now, because you see where Cam is in the NBA currently. Wesley needs to develop a consistent jumper, free throw shot and learn how to play controlled when attacking the basket.

He can stay at ND, gain valuable experience and get better at his craft, or he can be a G league player and learn the same way or sit on the bench and get small minutes while he learns in the NBA. Obviously its up to him, but $$$ speaking, staying one more year and potentially exploding in year 2 could make him a lottery pick.

Ivey is showing up as a top 5 pick in most projections. The extra year is going to pay him huge dividends.

The "extra year" has been trending down in the nba for years now. Obviously some guys are exceptions, but all things being equal, nba teams will draft a younger guy virtually 10 times out of 10 over an older guy. A larger body of work to critique and analyze limits player's projections. The nba draft is a lot different than the nfl draft. While film and experience are key factors for football execs, rawness is loved by nba execs- they believe they can create the player they want if certain measurables and abilities are there.

I can definitely see the argument for Blake coming back, but leaving now may not only enhance his chances of getting drafted, but how high as well.

NBA is probably a harder animal to gauge in regards to strength of draft class. Seems like a lot of moving parts and new faces every year in the NBA as relates to draft.

I’m sure it’s been said, but if he projects as a 1st rounder, he’s gone. He’s an SB kid. It’s something rare around these parts.

There is a massive difference in pay from late first round to lottery pick. He most likely won’t be a lottery pick this year. But if he comes back he will definitely be a lottery pick. He is on the same trajectory has Ivey.

My money is on him declaring for draft and doing all the draft stuff to get his feet wet in that department then eventually decide to come back

FWIW Matt freeman said he talked to some NBA scouts and they said for him to go back to school another year

FWIW, Prister has been pretty adamant for a while he’ll be back one more year.
