Not a new thing though. Kids try to sell snacks all the time.

No more CB's since his Florida offer (and he's in their backyard) is a good sign. This would be a big pull.

I used to sell cheater boxes out of my trunk. Free Skinamax is the best treat you can sell a HS kid.

The thought was Johnson was going to commit without visits but most thought it'd be ND if that were to happen. If we get fong'd out of Moore and Johnson I might need to take a break from ND recruiting, lol.

Wait... Lemming interviews Johnson on our campus, and we don't even make the list of schools he's currently interested in?

Yeah, I posted this last fall in the Master thread. He came to campus wanting/expecting an offer and he was obviously not as understanding as Coogan was about how they work their board.

This is why you have to give non-committable / contingent offers. Can't let a kid who should be in your top 5 come to campus from 1000+ miles away and leave with nothing in his hand and egg on his face.

Recruiting is hot garbage right now

Don't worry, BK will remind us how many years he has been doing this and that it will be okay. Meanwhile, we will need to take our annual 4 TD beating and live with it since we won double digit games.

Our recruiting is getting worse. Wasn’t quite sure that could happen. Wow

...We landed two recruits last week. lol

I give them credit for Riley, but Onye was the worst kept secret and its on record that he's been in the fold since lat January. I don't mind losing out for recruits and understand its part of the game, but it certainly feels like we're losing some momentum.

Shipley was a swift kick to the balls, we're not landing Rucci so losing out on Caleb Johnson would suck, and who knows what Lea is doing with the linebackers/rover so Josh Moore has now become a priority.

I'm sure covid has a lot to do with it, but I'm just feeling a sense of urgency.

If by "it" you mean that everyone has been panicky (recruits included), that's almost 100 percent what's happening. Kids are committing at record rate currently. They will probably also decommit at record rate later in the year too. Still a long way to go in this thing.

We're all just sitting at home looking for news.

I'm also not sure that we are in any place to worry about OL recruiting at the moment.

So a 4/5 man haul could look like Fisher, Coogan, Spindler, Bounds, ????. Crazy what the projection was pre covid

I guess we need to land a commit every time a recruit announces his decision to play elsewhere.

Bounds is a complete unknown, he may not make a decision until well into the season if it opens up where he can take OV's. They need to expand the board a LOT more.

I see a flip here.

My hope is they get Spindler. With Fisher, Spindler, and Coogan, they'd be at 15 schollies for 2021. I'd hope they could just go hard on Rucci, Tengwall, Milum, Dellinger, and Johnson and leave it at that. There's no need for a 4th or even 5th if they don't get one so there's no need to reach down into the 3* depths and grab someone. I think if they spent the next 7 months trying really hard to flip Rucci, Tengwall, and Milum then I'm guessing they land one. Those dudes were all super interested in ND pre-COVID. I think with a visit they could join the class in the future. I don't see a reason to throw out more offers when they're one spot away (hoping it is Spindler) from having the requisite numbers.

Fine, take out Onye since he's been in the fold for a while. Add McCloud instead.

It is hard for me to get excited about grad transfers considering the low success rate the staff has with them.

I really like our class, but the class has a chance to better.

Name ONE thing you actually get excited about. I have yet to see it.
