He should get the start this week if the Colts are mathematically eliminated.

Has Leonard been bucked up and that’s why rivers has started? His. Umbers have sucked and Leonard could not have done much worse.
You can tell Rivers can read a defense more quickly and better.

My understanding is they wanted to give it everything to win and get to playoffs. Rivers have them that chance vs a rookie who is still dealing with learning a system. Rivers already knows the system.

It's not an indictment on Riley.

Rivers is honestly the only FA this logic works for.

If things were clinched or they were eliminated, I believe Riley would've been in and we're not see the rivers experiment.

Riley starts next week
Already knows the playbook? Cam Newton calls that racist.

the coaching staff should have adjusted their offense to better suit Leonard building it up week on week as he got more comfortable like they already had a strong running game going. This is really on them

Leonard could have got them a lousy 17 points just using his legs. Rivers passes were thrown as if a girl threw them. Had the juice of a Tommy Rees pass. Riley showed out in one preseason game and outplayed Rivers the partial game he played. The wide out pathetic int was worse than watching a classic Rees int. Was the difference in the game. Passed for less than 300 yards total in two big games.

Sure start him against one of the hottest defenses in a game Texans want to win pretty bad. Need Leonard to run a lot to keep defense off balance. Rivers did ok for a 44 year old guy. Certainly better than 42 year old Rogers did Sunday. With that said the colts needed rivers to play like a decent QB and his arm strength was like Tommy Rees. His weak ass sideline pass was telegraphed and was the difference in the game. His stats were backup caliber at best. Leonard would have been a far better choice. Go back to Bama old man.

What's your thoughts on that interception?

As much as I will root for the guy, RL isn't going to do squat against the Texans. When it comes to reading defenses, the difference between Rivers and Leonard is obvious. That's why they played Rivers. They should have been playing Leonard to get the experience, but Steichen was holding onto that sliver of hope to make the playoffs when everyone else knew it wasn't going to happen. I'm much more pissed at Steichen than I am Rivers. Besides, if that INT didn't happen, it doesn't mean the Colts were going to win and if they had it's not helping the draft placement in the 2nd or later rounds.

I hope Riley plays great in a close loss and officially closes out the Chris Ballard era. Long overdue.

Ya'll slackin'. I was told this man can't throw.

[EDIT] Damn, Leonard ended up throwing for 270, running for 21 and had 3 total TDs but Colts lose by 8.

High praise for Leonard the whole game by the commentators & very deservable. They even called him "the future QB."

If this was an audition- he gave a heck of an audition.

He went deep twice to Pierce, but also had a couple of nice throws into tight coverage and a couple that required some touch. Overall a very good outing and a statement for challenging for the starter position next season.

Edit: To add to the above, I thought he showed very good pocket presence, didn't panic and used his legs nicely. Of his two INT's, one was on him. The second INT, he got hit as his was releasing the ball. With Ballard and Steichen apparently coming back, I hope he gets a fair shot.
