I think I need to flip flop back to my anti-Milroe position... he was legit dreadful all week...

Meanwhile, Riley Leonard (if he throws with OK velocity at pro day which is a big "if") probably played his way into getting drafted.

Which is pretty interesting considering the dark horse hype that Jaxson Dart has gotten. The benefit Leonard has is that this is a very weak QB class. I think he could probably find himself drafted 5th round or so, but wouldn't be surprised if a team takes a chance earlier like late 3rd. He just doesn't have a lot of great tape throwing the ball, and I would be shocked if his "shiftiness" translated at the next level. I think he would be a great backup though and could manage an offense for a game or two if the starter goes out.

Book was a 4th rounder with zero actual chance of developing into a competent starter, as much as I love him. I wouldn't exactly bet on Leonard developing into a successful starter either, but I can at least see the vision.

I didn't follow Josh Allen's draft process or his college career, but does RL have nearly the arm Allen does? Not even a slight to RL, but Allen has an absolute cannon.

Word has it Leonard was absolutely launching bombs during Senior Bowl practice, showing impressive range. Aside from Faison I don't know if we have a ton of speed that could have utilized Leonard's arm much this year, and often there was no need to.

Allen and Leonard are quite different as passers. Allen is a true gunslinger who can throw it into tight windows. Leonard is still a hesitant passer and seems to aim the ball more than really let it loose.

Allen was the rare unicorn that actually improved in the NFL. He was under 50% in college and looked awful Senior Bowl week compared to Mayfield.

His ability to prevent giant negative plays / turnovers and get typically get positive yards quite literally made the offense work. Our OL was solid, but not anywhere near elite this year. Really think the offense would have been in a bad spot if we had a statue back there.

Coverage sacks are definitely a thing. Even the best protection eventually gives out when nobody is open. Hartman wasn't Leonard mobile, but he moved around more than Pyne by a bit, and was way more mobile than Coan. Coan took a ton of sacks, -100 yards rushing for the year while Pyne had +100 and Hartman was +125. Don't forget that Hartman put his body on the line a bit to get a 1st down against Duke and keep us in that game, he had some important runs that year. 4th and 16...and he leaves his post game interview with Holly so he can go recruit Leonard to ND. ND Man.
