He definitely won me over as the season wore on. Great guy, great heart. He won me over through the season and I thought he was good today. Would happily have him back under the new 5 years of eglibjility rule.
I like the idea of Leonard and what he brings and the developing combination he has with Greathouse and hopefully Field can be a big 50-50 ball target. I would 100% take another season of RL.He definitely won me over as the season wore on. Great guy, great heart.
And I have no desire for him to come back for a 5th year. We have Carr in the wings, Angeli is capable as well. We have no need for another year of Leonard. We need a QB who can pass the ball first and run if needed. Not the other way around.
Howard had a $20 million dollar roster backing him up, with some of the best WRs in the sport, not to mention some pretty good backs. Switch Howard and Riley and I think we lose that game far worse.Yep, and they made the right call. Glad we picked Leonard. And this is coming from someone who absolutely did not want him at the beginning of the season.
Howard did good based on what? Answer that question first before you throw all the flowers at him.
In order as you posted them.Who will you remember greater, Riley Leonard, Brady Quinn or Ian Book?

Kind of like ranking the presidents on Mount Rushmore. All great, different eras. different situations, different cast. Hard to rank but all great leaders.Who will you remember greater, Riley Leonard, Brady Quinn or Ian Book?

Brady Quinn > Leonard > Ian Book. I think Book was overrated. I couldn't handle that in year 4 he still would run out of bounds for 6 yard loss over throwing it away.Who will you remember greater, Riley Leonard, Brady Quinn or Ian Book?

I agree, largely in part because he engineered breaking the major bowl curse, TWICE. He's been my favorite QB to watch for years and I'm glad we had him for the short time we did. I'm hoping Carr can take the next step up because we do need somebody who can pass consistently, but I'll have nothing but positive memories of Leonard at QB to be quite frank.Leonard because I remember big wins first.

My friends that are essentialy "NFL only" fans dont get his play style as a concept, but man i loved how dependable he was in short yardage. We missed it a lot last year under Hartman, and we're going to miss it next year with Carr/Angeli.

7k yards and 70 TD's his final two years. Not only would he have won it, Love would have been damn near unstoppable too as DEF would have been afraid of BQ arm.Brady Quinn would’ve won a title with this team. He also would’ve won a playoff game with the Book squads.
Because Brady was a better QB.
Ugh makes me sad just reading that, @BobbyMac when do we get our next Brady Quinn? Unless Carr is it7k yards and 70 TD's his final two years. Not only would he have won it, Love would have been damn near unstoppable too as DEF would have been afraid of BQ arm.
But again, could never get by USC or win a good bowl game. If I remember correctly, he was on the cover of SI to start off the 2006 season. Weeks later I was sweating in the 4th at Georgia Tech and then the following week got nuked buy Michigan. All this when 2006 was supposed to be ND's year. So the stats are there, but he did NOTHING close to beating UGA in the Sugar Bowl or PSU in the Orange.Ugh makes me sad just reading that, @BobbyMac when do we get our next Brady Quinn? Because the Brady era teams were inferior to this year’s team as well as the ‘18 and ‘20 teams. Quinn would’ve made all these teams better. But again, could never get by USC or win a good bowl game. That 06 team had a ton of NFL talent. BQ, Walker, Rhema and Shark were nice nice at times.Because the Brady era teams were inferior to this year’s team as well as the ‘18 and ‘20 teams. Quinn would’ve made all these teams better.
You just listed off a bunch of talent that either didn't play or barely made it to NFL with no true impactful careers. That 06 team had a ton of NFL talent. BQ, Walker, Rhema and Shark were nice nice at times.
