He won me over through the season and I thought he was good today. Would happily have him back under the new 5 years of eglibjility rule.
He definitely won me over as the season wore on. Great guy, great heart.

And I have no desire for him to come back for a 5th year. We have Carr in the wings, Angeli is capable as well. We have no need for another year of Leonard. We need a QB who can pass the ball first and run if needed. Not the other way around.

I like the idea of Leonard and what he brings and the developing combination he has with Greathouse and hopefully Field can be a big 50-50 ball target. I would 100% take another season of RL.

Yep, and they made the right call. Glad we picked Leonard. And this is coming from someone who absolutely did not want him at the beginning of the season.

Howard did good based on what? Answer that question first before you throw all the flowers at him.
Howard had a $20 million dollar roster backing him up, with some of the best WRs in the sport, not to mention some pretty good backs. Switch Howard and Riley and I think we lose that game far worse.

Kind of like ranking the presidents on Mount Rushmore. All great, different eras. different situations, different cast. Hard to rank but all great leaders.

My friends that are essentialy "NFL only" fans dont get his play style as a concept, but man i loved how dependable he was in short yardage. We missed it a lot last year under Hartman, and we're going to miss it next year with Carr/Angeli.

Leonard because I remember big wins first.
I agree, largely in part because he engineered breaking the major bowl curse, TWICE. He's been my favorite QB to watch for years and I'm glad we had him for the short time we did. I'm hoping Carr can take the next step up because we do need somebody who can pass consistently, but I'll have nothing but positive memories of Leonard at QB to be quite frank.

Leonard>Book>Quinn

Feels blasphemous to type but the other two never got it done on the big postseason stage.

Book gets the edge over Brady because I think he's underrated in the ND QB pantheon and the all-time wins stat. If Brady had won a BCS bowl in 2005 or something he might've been above the others.

It did feel like an cheat code at times. 3rd and 3 was basically guaranteed to keep the drive alive, especially if we were the area of the field where a 4th down attempt was acceptable.

Brady > Riley > Ian

Pretty easily. I agree with the sentiment that Brady wins the title with this roster. It would have been damn close. My wife is pregnant with our second right now. Had it been a girl we were going with Quinn..........she never knew why I liked it lol 🤫

He played his best in the national title game, and really vindicated the decision to bring him in IMO. Seems like a pretty stand up individual, too.

But I'm also not going to miss the evangelical and pseudo-prosperity gospel comments, either.

Gun to my head and ranking the QBs of the last 20 years, I don't put him above Quinn or Clausen. I probably don't put him above Kizer, either. Probably above Book. But I am more bullish on Kizer and bearish in Book than most.

7k yards and 70 TD's his final two years. Not only would he have won it, Love would have been damn near unstoppable too as DEF would have been afraid of BQ arm.
Ugh makes me sad just reading that, @BobbyMac when do we get our next Brady Quinn? Unless Carr is it

But again, could never get by USC or win a good bowl game. If I remember correctly, he was on the cover of SI to start off the 2006 season. Weeks later I was sweating in the 4th at Georgia Tech and then the following week got nuked buy Michigan. All this when 2006 was supposed to be ND's year. So the stats are there, but he did NOTHING close to beating UGA in the Sugar Bowl or PSU in the Orange.

Because the Brady era teams were inferior to this year’s team as well as the ‘18 and ‘20 teams. Quinn would’ve made all these teams better.

That 06 team had a ton of NFL talent. BQ, Walker, Rhema and Shark were nice nice at times.

Book > Quinn > Leonard

I apologize for nothing. Book doesn't get enough love from some. I'm fine with flipping him and Brady.

But I do think we would have found out Greathouse was an alpha earlier if either Book or Quinn was the QB. And I think we would have been able to have kept up in the 2nd quarter with Quinn.
